New Electro-Jazz CD by Eliott James Hits the Airwaves
Atlanta, GA - January 10, 2006 – Cinematic Life, the new CD by Eliott James, is now receiving radio play at jazz, college, world and independent stations in the US, Europe, Australia and Japan.
Eliott James’ music is described as being electro-jazz, ambient, world and rock influenced. A recent review in JazzReview.com said, “Think of the music of Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk interspersed with the latest technology and beautiful acoustic guitars and pulsating rhythms, some contemporary jazz injected in just the right places, and you are right in the middle of a Cinematic Life. The title could not be more appropriate. This music has the ability to take you anywhere you would like to go, its like having your own do it yourself world at your fingertips, just put the CD on and let it all happen.”
James is a composer, musician, poet, and celebrated author of three books on spirituality with a passion for acoustic elements. On Cinematic Life you’ll hear cello, harp, piano, upright bass and guitar. But these sounds are mixed with strong beats, synths, electric bass and guitar leads, giving us eleven songs that span several styles, that are hard to classify and even harder to compare to other artists.
” I’ve always been a fan of jazz but I like many different styles. I like strong beats, acoustic elements, nature sounds, and synths. I’ve simply allowed myself to bring out what has been in my head and heart for some time. It gives me joy to be part of its creation, taking sounds and molding them, arranging them, allowing the sounds to seep into my emotions and back out again. I get so much out of creating music. When someone enjoys it, the circle is completed. “
Cinematic Life is released on the Wateree Recordings label and available at online retailers and download sites such as iTunes. More info, including music samples and a free song download from the CD, is available at www.eliottjames.com

"What makes Cinematic Life special is that beneath it's pulsating rhythms and sound effects, there is melody. And surprisingly, some soul. I found Eliott James' CD to be a refreshing change and quite beautiful." Sal Nunziato, music writer (New York)
"Eliott James crafts a hypnotic synergy of beats and grooves. I played nearly all this CD on my radio show tonight. I generally don't allow an artist more than 10 minutes at a time but James' music was so dynamic, so enrapturing that it demanded the listener's ear on every track. From mellow to upbeat, long strings to jazz-like sax solos, synthesized beats to sampled natural soundscapes, "Cinematic Life" holds onto you the whole disc through. " Danny Ledonne, KRZA-FM (Alamosa/Taos)
"The music and production is excellent. I'll be playing it loads and recommending it." Jason Eli, Groovadelica, George FM (Auckland, New Zealand)
"Techno Jazz at its very best. The Album is hauntingly innovative and is strong rhythmically." John Reid, Keith Community Radio (Keith, Banffshire, Scotland)
"We are really enjoying your Cinematic Life CD - tracks 5, 6 & 8 are particularly good to bring the mood to a deeper space during my Global Electronic program." Paul Jove, Stereo 97 (La Paz, Bolivia)
"What a great sound you have, I have played several of your tracks to date and plan to schedule more in future programs. Keep up the good work and please keep me up to date with your progress." Michael Criddle, OzRadio (Australia)
"We really love this CD on The Upper Room Radio Show. For all music lovers, no excuse to not have this CD right now on your CD players because no collection is complete without this essential CD." Gi Dussault, Co-Host & Co-Producer Upper Room Radio Show WVOF 88.5 FM (Fairfield, CT)
