"...Her heartfelt lyrics look back at the past and revels optimism for the future. Her songs have a personal quality that makes you feel like 'Yeah, I've lived that.' Relaxed at the keyboard, Erin could be the 'girl next door', she just happens to have a great voice." - Wayne Voshell -Dover Summer Concert Series 2008 Coordinator - The Dover Post
...a golden larynx. Casey's like a pop Norah Jones, Ryan Adams, Bob Dylan brain child. You're working with solid stuff. - Navshille Singer/Songwriter Paul Noyd Jr.
That feeling of support was obvious in the Pilot House early Saturday night, when 17-year-old Casey MacKenzie from Dover, Del., was doing her piano solo set as the Villanova men's basketball team was staging its comeback against Pitt. Yet, several die-hard Nova fans at the bar stopped watching the game to listen to this young woman, who was just accepted to Berklee for music, only to turn back when cheers erupted. As one of the Nova fans bought a CD, she confessed to MacKenzie how, after a while, she didn't care who won the game because she got to hear MacKenzie play. As if that was the best compliment ever given to her, MacKenzie just beamed a smile and whispered, "Thank you." - John Alvarez
"With an arsenal of her favorite originals, a humongous Yamaha keyboard, and her very supportive mother, Dover Delaware's 18 year old Casey MacKenzie softly serenaded our Nashville hotel room midway through our final evening of Indiegrrl showcase artists, capturing the hearts of many.
...Casey shows her audiences just exactly how beautiful music was meant to be." - Brian Ball - Womens Radio
...the lovely Casey MacKenzie on

Dover that we met at an Open Mic (Delaware Friends of Folk) recently, and she really impressed us.

Elephant Sky is the moniker of Erin Casey (aka/Casey MacKenzie), a singer/songwriter from Delaware, who upon arrival to the music scene in Boston found herself surrounded by brilliant writers who inspired her to spread her love of music and expand her writing. She combines wise observations and playful antics to create captivating stories that weave in and out of her songs.
When a musician can balance on the borderline between seductive and sweet while maintaining integrity, it is both a beautiful and powerful thing. Such is the case for singer/songwriter Erin Casey of Elephant Sky. Her music has often been described as ‘…heartbreakingly soft and pure, but strong and knowing.’ With a large range of influences and inspirations, this self-taught pianist takes listeners through her musical journey as they experience pop, jazz, folk and country, all in one sitting. Her performances leave audiences begging to hear more.
Infusing her sweet sound with rich, dark stories and haunting melodies, Erin reaches out to different types of audiences with her innocent demeanor and wise outlook on life. Her most recent recordings have been described as, “…hauntingly alluring. Some songs are eerily minor while others are light and playful, but she keeps you intrigued and seduced by her voice.”
Currently attending Berklee College of Music and in the studio working on a new CD slated for a mid 2011 release.
