Bio
Cunning wordmanship and nifty turn of phrase, barked at the crowd in a tribal ritual; the guitar is only there to increase the volume. Songs like If It’s Really Me, and Charlie Brown are adapted from Scottish worker spirituals, There’s Only S’posed To Be One Weepin’ Widow, an Etonian poem set to a funk riff. Others have been just plain stolen from bums on the streets of London, where an ungracious Duncan Savage plies his trade, sweating and swaying for the general enlightenment of the regulars.
Influences? Less influenced, more influencer, and a bad one at that. Johnson, Ledbetter, McTell and Morganfield informed me, Dylan educated me, and Hendrix took my virginity.
Promoters and critics have called it Nu-Folk, Grunge/Blues, Louisiana Liquor Store Punk. It is pop music, handwritten by Duncan Savage.
