Drop Cast Flourish. Like their peculiar name, their sound comes from many influences. Not only EDM, but from within sub-genres of true House music as well as a dash of indie-dance. They are set on delivering catchy, absorbing tracks as curious as their odd behavior in the studio.
Most recently, Drop Cast Flourish has had their track "Youth" awarded runner up in an international producer competition with over 300 submissions from other artists and producers. The trio has also headlined their debut show at The Burlington Bar located in Chicago.
Drop Cast Flourish plays textured grooves, a trance-like ambience, and thought provoking yet minimal lyrics. "Youth," Their first single released on iTunes and Spotify brings out these attributes. It sets a light-hearted atmosphere with nods to current U.K. Garage sounds. On the other-hand, their most recent release "Escape" has a darker more progressive quality. Further into left of center you find their track "Material" with an initial reggae/hip-hop vibe leading into a more classic house music cadence.
A part of their sonic aesthetic is the result of producer and half lead vocal Mitchel Noble, with input from producer and sound engineer Nick Christian. Much of the foundational instrumentation and lyrical content is written by the other lead vocal Shawn Rieke. The result is a self-sufficient team of Columbia College students brought together by their similar musical palette and love of music performance.
