“Cheat” is a dreamy indie rock cut that’s wonderfully produced and plenty memorable to boot. As given away by its title, the single sheds a bit of light on a relationship gone awry—something the vast majority of us can relate to. We’ll call it an anthem for all those anti-Valentine’s folks who are holding it down for themselves today. - Substream Magazine
Boston based dream rock collective known as Dreamer & Son have released their spiffy music video for the song "Cheat". The clip shows the band playing against a pink backdrop, all while various couples hang out on a loveseat as the song plays in the background creating an intimate atmosphere where love runs amok, fulfilling the emotional needs and wants of everyone in the room and melding in well with the song's carefree nature. What I liked about the vid was its simplistic nature, and how it didn't have to go too over the top in getting its message across to the audience. A lot of times, bands go over the production budget in their vids, creating intricate storylines that can sometimes get too cheesy and follow the script of some rom-com Hollywood flick. With this vid, the band realize they don't have to implement any of those tactics, and instead create something that is more geared towards who they are as individuals, and what message they're trying to convey to their audience as well. A remarkable vid from a promising up and coming act that we should be paying some more attention to. - Music Box Pete
Dream Rock band Dreamer & Son recently released a new single called "Cheat" and we had the privilege of getting to know a bit more of the song below. This song is incredible and should be on repeat all the time. Catch them at a show near you, and a new record coming your way later this year. - Vibe Up Magazine
After a quick stage transition, perhaps the most explosive act of the night, Dreamer and Son, took to the stage. Hypnotic, silly, and slightly promiscuous, this four-member ensemble began their careers just a year prior, when frontman Sayak Das gathered the current band members to upload a cover of the Plain White T’s’ “Hey There, Delilah.” Now the band has become a powerhouse in the Boston area!
Dreamer and Son, just returned from recording their debut EP, and spent their time on stage performing the unreleased songs. The most admirable aspect to their performance is how, through their wall of unapologetic sound (and even some elaborate kicks from bass player Jake Sierzega), they maintained the high-energy of the night and kept the Red Room shaking. But, that could also be in part credited to the devoted audience members, who purchased tickets just to see their friends in Dreamer and Son, give an outstanding set. Home-field advantage can sharpen a musicians’ focus while on stage, and give them the motivation to stomp and jump around endlessly for over half an hour. After a short backstory and shoutout to their fans, Dreamer and Son ended their set to the tune of a mosh-pit, led by frontman Sayak Das. By the song’s climax, it seemed like the entire room was pushing and punching one-another! - Verge Campus
Sonically reminiscent of fellow Emo At Heart faves PINE and Mercies, there is a lot to like about Written Off, Moving On, especially how cohesive they play as a unit – there are no extra notes or wasted space here. - Emo At Heart

Bio
The ambient rock band Dreamer & Son is out to change the world. Forming in Boston from across the U.S., the young quartet puts heart and passion at the forefront of their music. Patrons of Tides of Man, Gates, and Kings of Leon will hear their inspiration in Dreamer & Son's unique and memorable songs. On the stage or in the studio, they capture the full spectrum of human emotion with soft ambient verses, aggressive choruses, and an explosive live performance. Dreamer & Son aims to break down genre barriers and build a diverse family; a community based on love and acceptance.
Written Off, Moving On is a story. From start to finish, the record presents the trials of growing up a misfit. However, the finale of the 5 track EP, “Not One Dry Eye”, brings about a new perspective that implies hope and acceptance. The songs, while purposely sad in nature, are organized in a way that reinforces the fact that things do get better. Our goal with Written Off, Moving On is to set a solid foundation of positivity and love so that we may build upon it for the rest of our careers.
