Bio
Established in 2005, Dr Charlie brings the influence of early British Blues mixed with the contemporary Australian roots scene to a modern audience. With powerful vocals, a tight rhythm section and melodic keyboards, Dr C's musical and lyrical approaches are sure to grasp and intrigue the lay listener as well as the more seasoned and critical ear. The musical style of the band delivers a driving and hard edged sound as well as being dynamic and flexible in our approach. Kevin "Charlie" Scott toured the UK extensively during the '60s and '70s. Opening for many of the name acts of the day including Fairport Convention, Manfred Mann and Joe Cocker, and was even once supported by Pink Floyd! More recently the band is a blues festival regular. Finalists in the Australian Blues Awards 2009- for best new talent & WINNER 2011 - : Male vocalist of the year.
