Is "math pop" a genre? I think it should be. Dories are math pop. Local boys gettin' their book-learnin' done out in Montreal, Dories combine varying time signatures, spastic drum work and staccato guitars into concise, tight pop songs. - Sled Island

Since forming in Montreal, in late 2012, Dories have released a collection of demos (Just Oil), one digital single (Storage), a split tape with Telstar Drugs, and a Cassette EP "Stripped" on Egg Paper Factory Records.
Dories have played throughout Montreal as well as Ontario, and have been featured in festivals such as Sled Island, POP Montreal, Goat Fest (Animal Productions), and Up Fest.
"With bands like the Dories and Viet Cong, it’s easy to assume that Calgary is firmly in its “post-Women” phase. These former locals moved out east and took their spidery pop with them, splintering into somnambulist meditations before dive-bombing back to earth with propulsive pop aplomb. Theirs is an intricate puzzle, but keep at it—the edges will form in time." - Sled Island
"Dories teeter somewhere between harsh Post-punk and Jangle-pop. Songs carve angular guitar melodies into complex rhythms, layered with detached yet sincere vocal delivery. Dories’ dense orchestration wears its accessibility on it’s sleeve. Trickery at its finest, this is pop – unwound and neatly repackaged." - Goat Fest
