Domonick Scott

Domonick Scott, originally Domonick Dickerson, is a highly talented Los Angeles based singer-songwriter.

Using his past experiences with love and anguish to fuel his music, Domonick creates heartfelt ballads with passionate lyrics that are sure to captivate audiences. Being a gifted vocalist, he expresses his vulnerability through powerful melodies and vivid lyrics.


Was there something (an experience) or someone in your life that was the "catalyst" for you to start writing music? Tell us about it.


I was a quiet child, expressing my feelings to others didn't come natural but I found it easy to put it in song. It allowed me to feel things I was afraid to feel.


Let's get this out of the way. What is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to you in your music career?


When I was younger I was sending demos frantically trying to make some connections and I got super lucky and got in contact with MJJ productions. I mostly spoke with a receptionists but one day I called and heard what I though was Micheal Jackson, I immediately started crying because that man is my idol, mid cry I was stopped and informed it wasn't Michael and I should call back later. Quickest turn from over the moon to embarrassed


What has been the high point of your music path?


I'd like to think it hasn't happened yet, so far i'd say it was signing my first record contract, it was with an independent label I was connected to through my producer. It led to a really fun year filled with growth.


So, how do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?


My best approach is really having none at first. My music tends to be emotional so I allow myself to ride those out and see where it takes me. I'll usually get a melody while I'm driving or simply taking a shower. After that I'll go and sit down with Hank, that's my guitar and work out the rest.


What do you see as the biggest challenge facing Indie Artists today? Or, if you could ask the music industry to change one thing, what would it be?


Noise, there are so many artists out there and with the ease of access to equipment you'll now see someone who sees music as just a hobby right next to the person who's dedicated their blood sweat and tears to the craft and I think this kind of puts too much pressure on a listener to figure out what is what.


If you could share the stage with one other artist or band, who would it be and why?


Ohh! this is hard, I love soo many artist! I'm a fan first, but if you're forcing me to choose one it's Pink. I've been a die hard fan since I was a kid and find her mix of rock and pop stunning.


What are your rehearsals generally like? Or, how do you prepare for a live show?


I like to rehearse pretty heavy but in a laid back environment. I want to connect with the emotion of the song over and over again so when the day comes I'm not forcing that part of it. On the day of any performance I take it easy because I don't want to strain my voice. - BWH Music Group
