"Pop/R&B Artist Dirty Little Billy Debuts Single Off Sophomore EP"

Dallas born independent Pop/R&B artist, Dirty Little Billy, is set to release her follow up EP, Listen and Learn on iTunes May 29th. In the meantime, she is releasing the first single and video for "No I Don't II (The Rematch)" for listeners. The album strikes a more straight forward pop/electronic attitude while still staying true to her R&B roots. Self-produced and written, the album is the sophomore effort to her debut EP, Put Your Love On Me.

"No I Don't II (The Rematch)" is the first single off Listen and Learn and encompasses some heavy guitars infused with "girl power-pop" elements. The track is filled with emotion as it's the tell tale story of a relationship gone wrong. "No I Don't II" is a remake of the song "No I Don't" off of her first album. The track was co-produced by Paul Wiley who also lends his guitar talents to the single. Dirty Little Billy displays her array of talent and personality and showcases her electro/pop abilities in her new EP. Title track "Listen and Learn" showcases her rap influences with an explosive chorus. "The concept behind this song is the very idea that music makes us feel and what we do with those feelings is so important because we are our future," explains Dirty Little Billy. "My Girls" is the 'girl's night out' anthem in her new collection of songs. Both tracks display her soulful vocals drawing attention to her raw and gritty emotion. Dirty Little Billy's southern sass and spitfire personality make up her unique and unforgettable sound exemplified here.

Other stand-out tracks on Listen and Learn include: "Attracted to You", which has that Sex and the City vibe of dressing to the nine's out to the club to find a hot guy who brings out your inner awkward teenager.

As a young girl, Dirty Little Billy was drawn to the vibrant pop culture in the arts and entertainment district of Deep Ellum, Dallas, where as a kid she would sneak into the local clubs to get a taste of the music scene. She derived her passion for rhythm and blues and the art of singing gospel and R&B when she was forced to attend church in South Dallas to hear her grandfather preach. The blues were the most influential part of her musical endeavors as they became her inspiration for her current musical style.

After the success of Put Your Love on Me, Dirty Little Billy's Listen and Learn EP is next step in her plight to share her infectious sound with her fans. Listen and Learn will be available on iTunes May 29, 2012. - Zoiks! On Line

""Listen and Learn" from Dirty Little Billy"

From hard club beats to bluesy R&B ballads, Dallas native Dirty Little Billy is raising the bar with her latest EP, Listen and Learn.

It will come as no surprise that from an early age, Dirty Little Billy was so intrigued by the ever-changing sounds of the music scene, she would sneak into clubs just to hear the newest songs. Her music reflects her interests in pop, hip-hop, electronica, R&B, and most notably the blues. With the upcoming release of Listen and Learn and her first EP Put Your Love On Me, audiences will now have two great party playlists.

Influencing Dirty Little Billy

Like many southern singers, Dirty Little Billy learned how to sing at church. Her grandfather who was a Baptist preacher would make her attend mass every Sunday. Once she learned how to sing both gospel and R&B, Dirty Little Billy explored other genres of music. Hip-hop and pop were her primary influences and then she discovered a deep love for the blues. She moved to Austin, Texas after her high school graduation and spent a year learning about music, listening to and singing the blues. She then moved to California to join her cousin's band, The Blues Denial. They played all over southern California for several years, but Dirty Little Billy decided she wanted to try her hand at a solo career writing songs that were a blend of all her favorite genres.

Put Your Love On Me

Dirty Little Billy made the right decision to go solo. Her first EP has track after track of smooth R&B vocals with hip-hop bass lines that make you want to get up and dance. Her lyrics show she is a strong, confident girl who likes to have fun. "Give It To You" is definitely the upbeat party anthem of the album, while "No I Don't" is a bluesy but fast-paced break-up song that could cheer up anybody with a broken heart. Dirty Little Billy's sound is reminiscent of wild girl Pink and hit R&B groups Destiny's Child and En Vogue.

Listen and Learn

Soon to be released on iTunes, Dirty Little Billy's sophomore EP, Listen and Learn, has a more electronic/pop sound but still contains elements of her original R&B style. The first single is a remake of "No I Don't" called "No I Don't II (The Rematch)". While it retains the same message about moving on from a bad ex, the beats are harder and the bass is dirtier. The second single "My Girls" is a fun girls night out anthem that showcases the fun, brazen attitude which she injects into all her songs.

"HEAR THIS: Dirty Little Billy Needs You To 'Listen & Learn'"

I've notated my interest in indie pop & R&B fusion artist Dirty Little Billy once before coinciding with the release of Put Your Love On Me, her debut EP released earlier this year. However, homegirl is on a grind and recently released another EP, dubbed Listen & Learn (now available on iTunes & Spotify) -- and has proved my suspicions are correct regarding her pop potentials...

The EP is backed by the more R&B-laced jam "No I Don't II (The Rematch)", a sequel to "No I Don't", featured on Put Your Love On Me. In comparison, "The Rematch" is much punchier, poppier and overall, tighter in sound in terms of mainstream appeal. Dig it.

"Manic Music Monday/Dirty Little Billy"

Dirty Little Billy has been fascinated with the world of pop culture and often snuck into clubs down in the Deep Ellum to hear what was new and happening on the music scene. She learned how to sing gospel and R&B when her grandpa was a preacher in South Dallas. She was influenced by pop and hip-hop and as she later became a huge lover of the blues.

In 2011, with help from her friends, Dirty Little Billy wrote, recorded and released, “Put Your Love On Me.” It was her first R&B/Pop/Electro single which debuted in January 2012 preceded by her sophomore EP, “Listen and Learn” which was released on iTunes in June 2012.
I really like the unique sound of Dirty Little Billy! She has some spunk and an awesome twist to the norm of what we hear on the radio. I think we will be seeing Dirty Little Billy on the MTV Music Video Awards soon! - Living In La La Land

"Listen Up: Dirty Little Billy, "No I Don't II (The Rematch)""

When our beloved GeorgiaMae.com bowed out in favor of Soul In Stereo, it was more of a transition than replacement. GM's spirit of girl power still resounds - I mean, Soul In Stereo's initials are SIS, after all.

Pop/R&B artist Dirty Little Billy fancies herself as a bullhorn for empowerment. Her passion for R&B and gospel was forged within the walls of her grandfather's church in South Dallas. Those influences, along with a heavy emphasis on blues, have shaped her style.

"No I Don't II (The Rematch)" remixes an earlier track with heavy guitars and hip-hop-tinged attitude. Dirty Little Billy is all about taking charge of her relationship – and her destiny. The track is the first single from her sophomore effort, Listen and Learn, which you can cop on iTunes right now.

Check out "No I Don't II (The Rematch)" below. Show some love for the ladies, but remember, they're definitely capable of loving themselves. Dirty Little Billy proves that. - Soul In Stereo

"INTRODUCING: DIRTY LITTLE BILLY"

Here I introduce you to Dallas pop artist: Dirty Little Billy. This independent artist released her debut album, Put Your Love On Me, on iTunes on January 24th. This record shows an eclectic mixture of pop, r&b, soul and hip-hop. Dirty Little Billy shows what she's good at on this record which is groovy and soulful tunes and somewhat of 90's pop/soul revival. Her southern sultry voice is the main selling point on this eclectic record. My favourite tracks off the record are: Give It To You (great r&b beat and sassy lyrics), Still Life (such a catchy song with emotional lyrics) and Walking On Air (I am a sucker for R&B songs with piano so she won me over here). Put Your Love On Me is her debut effort and with such a wide-ranging mixture one can only imagine what she will do next!! Definitely an album worth checking out! - CEASAR LIVE N LOUD

"MAILBAG MONDAY: DIRTY LITTLE BILLY, POB, STARRAH, CHANELLE RAY"

Song: "Give It To You"
Genre: Pop with a R&B lean
File Near: Jessie J
With a name like Dirty Little Billy and her Dev-esque promotional photography, I wasn't really expecting the throwback 90's-esque R&pop that Homegirl was supplying on her latest disc, Put Your Love On Me, but that's what I got. The record is a dalliance from her business as usual (which is electro, which makes more sense), but you gotta respect an artist that likes to experiment. "Give It To You" has a great R&B lean to it that you just don't see much in mainstream pop artist these days, and I really dig it.
