Bio
Devlin et. al is an indie rock band formed at Tufts University in the fall of 2017. Jasper Park, Andrew Vashchenko, and Pearse Devlin met in 2015 and originally bonded over hard rock/post-punk acts like Led Zeppelin, Pixies, and Interpol. Their sound evolved after meeting lead singer and piano player Amanda Lillie in 2017. Finding a new appreciation for elements of indie pop, synths, and alternative rock, the four Jumbos are now pushing their limits as they continue to experiment with more synth components and effected vocals within their classic rock guitar patterns and post-punk influenced rhythm section.
Devlin et. al opened for Sidney Gish and Lost Dog for Tufts' Spring Thing in May 2019. They have also performed at a number of Tufts-based fundraisers, such as Jumbonaroo, Relay for Life, Thetathon, Tufts International Development Battle of the Bands, as well as various house venues for local events. During their first few months as a rising Tufts band, they covered bands such as Weezer, Grouplove, Cage the Elephant, Foster the People, Vampire Weekend, and Joan Jett. However, cover-heavy performances were quickly replaced by an outpouring of original songs as the band became more solidified and began writing faster than ever.
Devlin et. al just finished their debut album, an array of songs written over the years while at college. Demos (Devlin et. al, 2019) is set to release October 11th. Their debut singles "Jumping Jacks", "Space", and "In My Mind (We Were Already There" have been released throughout the end of September.
