DEUCE DEUCE IS AN ELECTROACOUSTIC/ALTERNATIVE HIP-HOP GROUP FROM CHICAGO, IL FOUNDED BY PRODUCER/ARTIST LOREN MIDDLETON, CEO OF LO-JAZZ RECORDINGS. THEY BEGAN TO BLAST ONTO THE SCENE AS YOUNG ARTISTS IN THE FALL OF 2004 AND HAVE PROSPERED SINCE THEN INTO A QUATRO OF SONGWRITERS, PRODUCERS, COMPOSERS, ENGINEERS, MC'S AND HYPE MEN, DOING SHOWS AROUND THE MIDWEST AND RELEASING MIXTAPES & ALBUMS ANNUALY. THE GROUP CAME TOGETHER BY WAY OF THE TWO FRONT MEN, AND BEST FRIENDS, JAY & REWIND. HIGHLY MOVED AND INFLUENCED BY THE MUSIC OF OUTKAST, THEY BEGAN TO WRITE SONGS (INDIVIDUALLY) AT A VERY YOUNG AGE. AFTER COMING TOGETHER, EACH WITH THEIR OWN SONGS WRITTEN, THEY SAW AN OBVIOUS CHEMISTRY IN THEIR STYLES. AFTER PERFORMING A SONG A CAPPELLA FOR INDEPENDENT LABEL CEO LOREN MIDDLETON, HE DECIDED TO WORK WITH THE DUO AND GUIDED THEIR EARLY CAREER. THEY RELEASED THEIR FIRST EVER SINGLE "ACROSS THE BORDER" IN 2005 WITH LO-JAZZ RECORDS. THE SONG RECEIVED LOTS OF LOCAL ATTENTION. AFTER RECORDING 2 MORE SONGS WITH LO-JAZZ, DEUCE DEUCE WENT OUT ON THEIR OWN TO RECORD 17 SONGS, WHILE IN THE PROCESS ADDING TWO MORE MEMBERS (AND GOOD FRIENDS) JC AND K L!L. PEOPLE BEGAN TO CATCH ON TO THE NAME, AND BECAME FAMILIAR WITH THE QUATRO AND THE CATCHY LINE FROM THEIR SINGLE "ACROSS THE BORDER, DEUCE DEUCE MAKE'S YA STAND UP!"
