The Instrumental category winner of the 9th Annual Great American Song is Mahyar Jamy Bagheri, a remarkably talented composer from Jambes, Belgium.
His instrumental composition "Desert Sand" earned enthusiastic accolades from the contest judges. They praised the composition for it's "exceptional melodic design" and "beautiful and impressively creative soundscape."
Jamy, who has been creating music since the age of 15, composes his songs mostly on the piano. As a musician, he is self-educated. His current aspiration is to write music for films and television.
"Music is the most important thing in my life," he says. For me, each composition and musical project I undertake provides a sense of accomplishment and reward. Note by note, day by day, I try to build on my motivation to succeed and persevere."
