Deft Key was eagerly formed by Ray Howard in 06'. It was and had been a long time dream of mine to produce really well writen and stylistic versions of soundscapes and grooves that I could only before then imagine. I started out going to dance parties. I loved the grooves and the atmosphere. The dj had all the power to make you feel and move but I was thrown off by the monotany of the "four on the floor" beat I wanted to hear more visual soundscapes and more creative songwritting. I wanted to be able to create this sound that I was hearing in my head. Finally, one day I was introduced by a friend to a little program called fruity loops. I started off slow with it not knowing it's potential to become such a vital instrument. A couple years into it my learning curve began to plain off and I was doing things with sounds that I only dreamed of before.. being influenced by so many great producers of electronic music, I was finally able to perform in my own realm of surrealistic adventures into sound.
