Bio
Debbie Tassone and Gary Frost are an acoustic singer/songwriter duo from Jupiter, Florida.
Gary Frost has been a professional musician since 1985 when, at that time, he went on the road with his first rock & roll dance band. The road tours took him all over the country and abroad playing hotel show rooms and casinos until 1989 when he decided to settle in Nashville. Intent on learning the craft of songwriting, Gary quickly began working in acoustic groups that performed original music around Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Louisiana, and North Carolina.
In 1993, satisfied with his experience in Nashville, Gary relocated to Stuart, Florida. He put aside songwriting and made his living working the local music scene playing covers. He performed solo acoustic, in duos, trios, and various rock & roll bands including the popular Night Train and Big Vince & the Phat Cats. Over the years he has had the opportunity to be the opening act for many artists at numerous South Florida venues including Dr. John at BB Kings Blues Club, Loverboy and The Knack at the Meyer Amphitheater, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds at Floridas largest music festival, Sunfest .
Debbie Tassone is a classically trained vocalist who has been singing since she was old enough to speak. Her father, a folk recording artist in the 60s, inspired her to sing and pursue her passion for music. By the end of high school, she had toured Japan with a vocal group and sang on National TV (the NBC Christmas tree lighting special). Her first published song, "Need You More", was recorded by an R&B artist in Hawaii and hit the charts there for a few weeks. She continued writing and sang with various bands and projects in the NYC area for a few years but her love for harmonizing led her into the a-cappella world where she sang with several pop vocal groups including Riff Raff, Dobsonfly and The Decibelles. Once she moved to Florida, she decided to get back to her folk roots as an acoustic singer/songwriter. Many have described her style as a soulful fusion of folk, pop and soft rock. A common thread for her music choice is a message of positivity and inspiration.
Gary and Debbie met in 2009 at an open mic night. After realizing they had a similar style and a unique vocal blend, they soon found themselves working regularly as the duo, Acoustic Soul. After hearing Debbies original song, Trust Your Journey, Gary was inspired to start seriously writing again. Nashville taught me what it takes to write a great song, and until I met Debbie I felt that I had never written a great song. Work began on their first collection of original tunes, which culminated in the full length CD entitled, HOME. It is an acoustic album with lyrics and melodies that easily connect with the listener. Gary says, I wrote songs with stories and strong messages, mostly drawing from personal experience, that I knew would fit Debbies style of singing.
Whether its at a living room house concert or on a festival stage, Debbie Tassone and Gary Frost always perform an intimate and engaging show. Their set of original music is accompanied by a few select covers and intertwined with stories and humor. But it is the songs that are the heart of the performance. Delivered with warmth and sincerity, it is their hope that each listener comes away with a feeling of inspiration.
