Remember that feeling of listening to Weezer’s Pinkerton for the first time? Dead Soft will make you feel like that all over again. Maddeningly catchy and completely irresistible. - BEATROUTE
Brian Eno famously said of the Velvet Underground that, while their first album only sold 30,000 copies, “everyone who bought one of those 30,000 copies started a band.” Even though the trio in Dead Soft don’t have a lot of similarities to Andy Warhol’s house band, it’s a testament to their goofy-fun grunge that every time I see them I want to make rock music. Warrior-poet Nathaniel Epp coaxed creamy overdriven guitar tones out of the Owl’s impressive PA, and even if new drummer Graeme McDonald looked a little static behind his kit, the group as a whole had impressive synergy. - Discorder

Dead Soft combines the greatness of the early surf rock movement with the greatness of the early 90's indie. The introductory EP shows a band concerned with reality over theatre, a record that, in aesthetic, yells lo-fi but in composition rivals anything. Satisfying the pop hook craving while showing off a a bravado seen in only some of the most pretentious rock music, Dead Soft is anything but. - Dingus On Music

Aesthetically proclaiming itself an anthem while structural a slow dance sort of song, ‘See Through’ is the highlight, in my opinion of the recently released Dead Soft ep; simultaneously epic and warm. - Dingus On Music

Seattle has always been a Grunge inspired town and our sister city, Vancouver, seems to be like minded in that sense as well. Taking that under consideration, Vancouver’s Dead Soft produces some undeniably solid tunes. Going down the rough checklist of all that Grunge-Pop entails, the trio seems have their bases covered. Gargled vocals also capable of being sweet? Check. Intimate acoustics that only emphasize the meaning of the material? Check. Loose instrumentals that have the ability to tighten up at just the right moments? Double check. For further proof of these claims, get your ears around “See Through.” A haze covered, teenage memory minded, drive through the bands past. With the release of ‘EP,’ Dead Soft has proven to be not only Grunge enthusiasts but, in some aspects, pioneers. - Deepsees

Bio
Dead Soft are one of Vancouvers hardest working bands. Their music ranges from head-thrashing punk rock to innately danceable pop music. Formed in Victoria, BC in 2011 by Nathaniel Epp and Keeley Rochon, Dead Soft migrated to the mainland and joined drummer Graeme McDonald to establish themselves in the Vancouver music scene through a seemingly unending string of shows that never degrade in quality.
Dead Soft released their self titled EP in September of 2011 through their Band Camp page and a small run of tapes via No One's Ark Records. The tight, six track package set out to establish their artistic range with tracks like Phase demonstrating their pure punk bravado to tracks like Something For Nothing that pull the band's sound into a noisy, dark direction without losing their trademark pop sensibility. The band's second official record "Teen Fiction" was released in the Spring of 2013 and gave them the momentum to tour across Canada and back with their first stop being Sled Island Music Festival in Calgary. Upon their return to the West Coast, Dead Soft threw themselves into writing and recording their first full-length album, working with Jordan Koop at the renowned Noise Floor Recording Studio with hopes for a release some time in Spring 2014. As they work on booking their first American tour, Dead Soft can be found playing shows all around the West Coast region, wherever live music can be heard.
