The whole album comes together nicely. Lyrics, vocals and instruments blend wonderfully. The songs stay in your head and the lyrics are thoughtful too. Good one.

Dang! CD on Rockabilly Nation - Cathryn Ellis
It's not an easy thing to do, put out a CD where every song is good and you want to listen to the whole CD. I've listened to it so many times. Why I love, "Old ABQ" the best is because it's, to me, very autobiographical. I think it's a classic that could turn into a "standard”.

Balladeer David Lear is a singer songwriter that examines his vision of heartland America performing upbeat blues/folk, country rockers, and blistering souful ballads with thought provoking personal lyrics.
Spinning yarns of broken love, lost hope, wild abandon and winding up with a sort of spiritual ascension. The songs drum up the backwood swamps, the vagabond highways and hard town living. Between it all is a sense of salvation and redemption that the listener just can't let go of as their foot automatically taps out the beat.
The string players add there creative fiddle and guitar atmosphere to the storytelling, while the bass and drums bring their backyard barbeque attitude that makes this group pure entertainment and celebration of the people and for the people!
