David Jones

My name is David Jones (DAVE JONES) and I love to create Inspirational Hip Hop Music. My mission statement is to reach the lost through Holy Hip Hop and preaching. I want to bless people and open the blinded eyes to make people see the purpose of life.

I currently reside right outside of Richmond, VA but the majority of my life I grew up on the streets of New York and New Jersey. I am 27 and have been married to my Beautiful wife for almost 6 years. My wife Sarah Jones, is a Christian School Teacher and also the Worship Leader at my Church (Life Church in Chester, VA). I currently work in the IT field to pay the bills but my passion and my ministry is in rapping for the Lord. I have a degree in Computer Networking, and attended 2 years at Evangel University where I picked up some production skills. My wife has a degree in Biblical Studies (Zion Bible Institute) and a Master in Elementary Education (Regent University). The two of us make a dynamic team when it comes to making music. I concentrate on writing, beat making and production, and Sarah focuses more on beat making (she an excellent pianist), and singing (she has the voice of an angel).

I started making music and rapping in 1997. I compose my own beats and mix down my recordings. I wrote a lot of poetry in my day and had some stuff published, which later transitioned into my smooth laid back rap style. In 2001 I went to Evangel University and took some production classes which helped me to start producing more quality music. We use to have freestyle competitions in my dorm room which made me appreciated all types of rap flow, since we had people from all over the states. I have an east coast flow but like to incorporate some of the southern styles. I pieced together some recording equipment where I can produce decent music in my house, it is not A quality yet but I’m hoping a Christian music producer will catch wind of my music and take me under their wing.

Christian music has evolved so much over the last decade especially when it come to Christian Rap. Over the years I have had a lot of Christian artist that have influenced me from all genre of Christian music. My first Love was definitely Dc-Talk and later progressed to artists like The Cross Movement. I like to thank these artist for their help in forming me; Dc-Talk, Jars of Clay, Cross Movement, Tunnel Rats, L.A. Symphony, Rebecca St. James, Third Day, Out of Eden, 4th Avenue Jones, Toby Mac, Flame, Lecrae, Grits, Da Truth, Corey Red, J Silas, T Bone, Knowdaverbs, KJ52, and a bunch of people on the CMR label and many more…. I‘m sure I will think of ya’ll Later.

My dreams are to present my art form on a wider scale with preaching and a worship service. I don’t want to just perform. I want to impact lives with the gospel message and bring the word to the streets. I am looking to get signed to a Christian label and go to work. I have a lot to offer to a Christian label with my skills and abilities. I am a Christian Hip Hop artist with a mission to reach people for Christ with my music. I want to make music that will make people think about life and the roads that they choose. Serving the Lord Jesus Christ is my passion and this is one of my ways that I can reach people for Jesus.
