davewade

davewade was born in dayton ohio. moved to phoenix for a change of pace and fell head first into the phoenix underground reggae scene, playing bass and singing backgrounds for performers like walt richardson, grantman, rastafarmers and one blood from tucson, leading him to share stages with everyone from steele pulse to ziggy marley and reggae legends sly and robbie. steadily he branched out into poppier outfits like curious walk and others. eventually blending these sounds together in his own compositions for his own amusement. sooner or later other valley musicians discovered his little hobby and joined him in recording and performing these funny little mutant melodies around the country as a staple on the bob marley festival tour. the band notoriously stage jumps whenever they can find an unsuspecting band to let them sit in. as daves tastes continued to widened, so did the variance of genres and time signature bending. he's funny, talented and a brilliant frontman. dave also supplies the sub-low end in the Mediterranean fusion ensemble cosmos, further pushing the envelopes of future material. his bass style can only be described as a big bottomed funky razor cotton ball. the nicknames abound, pimp nickle, hand-grenade, lemonade, commander stain, baldylocks. "i don't know, i guess it's a bonding thing?"over the years the band has been through a series of permutations — upskirts, spill, subdub, and the dreadmores — before settling on the eponymous moniker davewade (no space). "sometimes entertainers drop their last names. i just dropped the space. i figure that's just annoying enough to work."
