Da Specialyst

He calls himself Da Specialyst. What makes him so special? What singles him out from all the up and coming rappers? He’s different. From his lyrics he is known as “the Ladies First Choice”, yet he has something for the men. He is straightforward and he explains how men feel. He is very honest in his lyrics-he’s a realist. He actually helps men and women understand each other. On a lighter note he is also pure entertainment and a comedian by nature. Few words sum him up as an artist “truly multi-talented”. When asked to describe his music he will tell you “I keep it consistent, I don’t believe in one hit wonders. I can do anything; I can write for any genre, I can do any type of song. Music is my job- Music is my specialty.”

Currently, Da Specialyst is working on his debut mix tape “Detour” due to drop April 12th 2011. Detour is an introduction of Da Specialyst to the world. Detour symbolizes the many roads taken in his life that always led to a new direction. His talent, drive, and amount of energy put into this, is what puts him ahead of other upcoming rappers. This mix tape is the push that is catapulting his movement toward success. Once Detour is gained, he will not be stopped as he is forever moving forward.

Using Detour as a life metaphor, Da Specialyst is moving forward from his past successes. His songs Jetpack, B.O.M.B and Swagtastik featured on several Coast-to-Coast mix tapes, working with Rayvon, and performing for Hot 97 shows, he is using his experience and knowledge as a platform and strong foundation. Along with the mix tape dropping, Da Specialyst also works behind the scenes. He worked hand in hand with his producers The AvenJerz on the beats and self-engineers. He also has his hands fully grasped on the business with marketing, promotions, shows, and branding. 2011 is a promising year for the young artist with his upcoming shows, videos, and working on a follow up album.
