His lived-in, weathered voice has all the familiar qualities of an old friend, even if you’re hearing it for the first time. Beginning with “Sunset Highway”, its arrangement and presentation sits in the space between Guy Clark and Butch Hancock’s finer records, and contemplates love and the passing of time; a fine start. “Old Man On the Pier” drips evocative imagery and Everitt’s vocal nestles in closely to the narrative. And his Texas troubadour credentials are confirmed on “The Ballad of Aubrey Call”, where the protagonist is subject to an amiable litany of myth and conjecture. Wait for the ending. - Leicester Bangs Blog, UK - Phil S.
…great writing and masterful arrangements. Everitt’s diversity is the perfect kind, one of dynamic rhythms that don’t fall far from the core genre that defines the artist. Lyric-based with lines that matter, this album exudes comfort in every cut. Lucky Boyd - My Texas Music
Danny, Please never stop recording your songs. We just got a copy of “Cold Wind Cold Rain”, and blown away mildly describes our emotions after hearing your new songs. Your songs truly enrich our lives. The Richmonds, Windsor, CA - Richmond
Danny’s a great singer/songwriter in the true Texas tradition....kind of a cross-over country/troubadour singing style somewhere between Jackson Browne and Kenny Loggins. - LA Weekly Reader

For the last year I have been listening to bands that have reformed and musicians that have revived their talents and it's been very enjoyable. Lots of nostalgia and fun memories. But, when I had the privilege of hearing Danny Everitt’s new CD, I was completely full-filled. There was nothing watered down. He’s still got it, never lost it, and brought it back home where it belongs. Big, big smile on my face. - Sound off
With “Cold Wind Cold Rain”, Everitt has given us a pure Texas songwriter’s album; a poet’s words put to music, a musician’s melody coupled with poetry, all of it every bit as comfortable as a well-worn pair of Larry Mahan boots. It won’t take too many passes for this disc to break in and become a personal favorite either, and promises to wear equally as well for years to come. I would suggest picking up two copies of this CD, one for you, and one for the person who wishes to steal your copy. - Gerry Hailer

If you love Texas and you love music, you’ll love Danny Everitt because he is the perfect combination of the two. Strong, bold, vast, sweeping, lyrical and poetic. Everitt’s music is at once as beautiful and lonely as a tumbleweed blowing across West Texas. Danny’s been a troubadour around Texas, California and Tennessee for most of a few decades now and he captures a lifetime of heartache, love and life in his recently released “Cold Wind Cold Rain”.
Those who know Danny love his music. Those who don’t, will. High time you get in on the Everitt secret.

The first song on your new album, Acoustic Souvenir, is brilliant. I love the guitar so much! I dig the lyric "This car feels like a prison." I absolutely love the vocals. Imagery, harmony, the total star-quality package. PP
