Bio
Dana Leigh began her musical journey shouting rock and metal songs in her best friend's barn at 13 years old. My, how times have changed! Now her smooth voice sings gentle melodies with deep emotion in a style inspired by folk and jazz. She captivates audiences with her beautiful music, sincere lyrics, and candor on stage.
Dana Leigh really started pursuing music after a move to Dallas, Texas, where she began playing solo at small clubs and cafes with her sister, Vanessa, on bg vocals, making home recordings, and taking music courses at Collin College.
At Collin, she met drummer Michael Ruiz at an audition, and they got into the same jazz band. She met bassist, Jesse Thompson at Collin as well. Then Michael started playing drums with Dana outside of school, and a 3-song demo for a friend's audio engineering project turned into a 12-song album. The album, Come to Life, was released in October 2010.
Dana recently started going to Belmont University, and currently divides her home between Dallas and Nashville.
Her goal is to write songs that make you think, make you feel, and show you the beauty in both joy and sorrow.
Not just a pretty face with a pretty voice, but a uniquely skilled guitarist and songwriter as well.
