CURTIS BAILEY AND THE CLINIC

The New York Post stated that “Curtis Bailey
is an Intriguing Instrumentalist”.
This Notorious New Yorker got his professional start with the late great band leader Sun-Ra while still in high school, with the honor of sitting in the same section with legendary saxophonist Marshal Allen and John Gilmore. Curtis was picked up by Warner Reprise rap group Unity 2; a Hip Hop, Ska, Dance, Funk band with a banging DJ. Unity 2 was a recording and tour band that opened for such acts like Queen Latifah, A Tribe Called Quest, Big Daddy Kane, Shine head,
Maxie Priest etc.
Curtis then had the pleasure of becoming the Musical Director for an off-Broadway play “Tomorrow” written and directed by “Tellin Tales” founder T-Renee. He began to open for acts like Ray Goodman and Brown, Chuck Jackson, Freddy Jackson and Millie Jackson. Curtis worked on the film “Doctors Orders”, Directed by Kevin Doc Tuddor of Sand Storm Productions and on the films “I Will” and “An Uphill Fall” Directed by Donovan Lambert of A Long Time Coming Productions.
Curtis currently plays with Mega Reggae Soul
Band “Leon and The Peoples”. Leon and The Peoples were nominated for Best New Band at the 2007 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA). Leon and The Peoples have completed a North American tour with Beres Hammond and Marcia Griffiths after their debut album “The Road Less Traveled”.

He currently has the extreme honor to be the leader of a
dynamic and progressive powerhouse band called
“CURTIS BAILEY AND THE CLINIC” also out of New York.

The band members have had the opportunity of playing, touring and recording with the likes
of New Edition, First Circle, Delphonics, Persuaders, Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Bobby
Bell, Alana Davis, Roy Ayers, Michael Urbaniak, Family Stand, and The Stylistics, Barbara
Tucker, MC Lyte, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Beres Hammond, Jimmy Cozier etc.

In 1997, Curtis also put out his debut CD “Daddy’s Got A Deal”
which put him back into the tour arena and won him the Top Dog
spot of Harlem Chamber Of Commerce’s “Harlem Week Talent
Search”. He began to open for acts like Ray Goodman and Brown,
Chuck Jackson, Freddy Jackson and Millie Jackson.
