Fort Fun retro rocers Cure for Madeline have been making heads turn in Colorado since the band's inception in autumn 2008. Drawing influences from the '90s grunge scene that inspired them, the trio- made up of musicians from widely known local groups until We Wake and The Ghosts of Verona- was looking to form a project exciting and relate-able that would mesh concepts from this powerful musical era with new perspective. Cure for Madeline exudes passionate rock sounds ranging from heavy and melodic to orchestral and acoustic. Their '90s rock influence prevails in melodramatic vocal melodies carried by thick guitar chords and stacked octaves. Imagine yhaving a cup of tea out on your porch in a thunderstorm. - Brian F. Johnson ~ Marquee Magazine

Bio
CFM has re-surfaced as an “underground” pop-rock duo whose desire to experiment doesn’t discredit their user-friendly reputation! Some songs exude eerily enchanting overtones that provoke curiosity while others sweep you up in delightful melody and carry you along safely for the ride.
“We still enjoy writing ballads and song’s people can relate to, but our approach to writing is way more unrestricted than before..” – Giovanni, CFM
Naming the band in remembrance of their lost offspring, it’s no secret the pair’s involvement in their music, as well as each other. Originally formed late 2008, CFM has evolved from 90’s grunge inspired to embracing more modern concepts. Non-subtle guitarist Giovanni layers rhythm and lead progressions as a gentle tornado that knocks you off your feet unexpectedly and swirls you about, and Whitney Leigh infiltrates the tunes with simple piano melody and beautifully affected vocal – all beaten into your skull by in-your-face 808 bass and other varying digital percussions. As if that’s not enough, the ‘dark-angel’s clever lyrics illustrate real-life experience – both happy and sad - but no phrase short of interesting. A selection of raw acoustic chants is a wonderful interruption to their now partially-digital set (keepin’ it real !).
“Over the last several months of writing, we’ve really come to the realization that the possibilities are endless. We’ve been enjoying experimenting with different instrumentation and aren’t stopping here!” – Whitney Leigh, CFM
..But you need to see for yourself. Keep an eye on our calendar, and be sure to catch CFM live at many ROCKTISM sponsored events in Colorado and the surrounding region as they hop back on the map this year! Grab a drink and let the music pull you in!
