"Make It Easy For Me"

Fort Worth native Cori Lynn's first album. No Apologies and Halfway To Healing showcase her vocal range in a soft, sweet voice to communicate the song. Make It Easy For Me picks up the tempo and the corresponding music video can be seen on corilynn.com - CD Baby

"Cori Lynn Make It Easy For Me"

Cori Lynn Ross is a singer you will be hearing more about in the near future. Performing since her pre-teen days, she is still not twenty and sounds like a seasoned professional. Make It Easy For Me, produced by seven-time Grammy Nominee Stefani Little and engineered by Eric Legg, has a rich full rich sound. Multiple musicians played on the album and Ms. Ross has co-writing credits on two of the songs. If you expect to hear Brittany-Xtina-Gaga inspired songs from this 19-year old artist, you would be 100% incorrect. What she offers is well-played, mature country-rock with a bit of pop phrasing thrown in.

Having writers like George Teren (“Real Good Man,” “When I Get Where I’m Goin’,” “Ladies Love Country Boys”) on three of the six songs on the album certainly puts Lynn out front in terms of quality of the music. The chorus for the Teren-penned “Make It Easy For Me” will evoke memories of Heart’s “Crazy On You.” Cori Lynn’s vocal inflections and the driving rhythm of the song reminds one of Ann Wilson’s vocals and the Heart band’s power from their debut album. This is a compliment to her talent and a thought of what could be in her future. “Thirteen,” which refers to the number of a football jersey, tells the tale of a woman remembering the betrayal bestowed upon her when she encounters the guy again in a bar. This song, written by Teren and Little, is a country-rocker and contains some tasty guitar licks throughout.

The songs all have a message of hope and that you need to work for what you get in life, and none more so than “Walkin Thru Walls,” a country-rocker which contains the call to “hold out for the best, don’t settle for less, than walkin thru walls.” This is the anthem song of the album. That song, when played in concert, will have the crowds up waving their arms and singing along at the tops of their voices. “You Make Me Who I Am” is the perfect final song for this album. The Teren-Stephanie Bentley song could have been written for someone in Cori Lynn’s situation. A love letter to that person who completes her, “I make the music; you make me who I am.” This is a song you could hear Carrie Underwood singing, but you will be glad to hear Lynn’s version.

The album is a testament to Lynn’s vocal abilities, and it comes as no surprise that the two songs which best illustrate her talent are the two for which she receives co-writer credit along with Stefani Little and Colin Alexander. - CD Review

"Cori Lynn at Lone Star at Sundance Square Saturday"

Local pop singer Cori Lynn is putting on a show and releasing a new CD and music video at 3 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) at Lone Star in Sundance Square near ESPN’s Super Bowl headquarters.

Cori Lynn’s music is polished, sincere, and catchy – and she’s an old pro despite her youth. She’s been singing at local oprys such as Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue, belting out national anthems at sports fields and stadiums, and performing in local theater since she was a little girl.

Casa Manana, Bass Hall, Billy Bob’s, Texas Motor Speedway, the State Fair of Texas, the Ballpark in Arlington, the Fort Worth Stock Show, she’s done them all.

She’s also the granddaughter of local actor Barry Corbin, featured last year in a Fort Worth Weekly cover story.
