BANDWIDTH DAILY: C-Micah Music is on the rise! How'd you get into music? C-Micah: I actually started doing music about 15 years ago. It all started when I was asked to help manage some young kids that were rapping at my church. One day they asked me to try to rap, I did, and they thought it was great. Lol, probably was the wackest rap ever but after that I stuck with it. I always had a love for music as a child, but never figured I would be doing it as an adult. Ironically all the group quit rapping, a few years later. Lol, go figure.

BANDWIDTH DAILY: The music biz is a roller coaster, what are some of your proudest moments? C-Micah: Performing at this year's SXSW festival is one of the biggest ones! Also performing in Germany & Belgium 2 years ago was a dream come thru for me, as well as releasing my latest album last August was a huge achievement for me. Being an independent, that was the most complete professional project I've ever done! That album "Faith Music" has been my most successful project to date!
BANDWIDTH DAILY: Building and keeping momentum is key to success, what new music or events are on the way? C-Micah: Right now I'm focused on promoting my latest project "Faith Music", but I have been doing a few features for other artist. I also will be touring in Colorado, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, & Missouri over the next few months.Hopefully many more states as well! - Bandwidth Daily

With Faith Music, I feel like C-Micah has brought a fundamental shift in Christian rap, bringing it back to an anointed word. Coming from St. Louis, Missouri, C-Micah brings new biblical themes to Christian rap, and he’s done them well.



Faith Music hits a home run for The Kingdom of God:

BIBLICAL: Its Biblical in content and exemplifies a biblical lifestyle.
HOLY SPIRIT FILLED: Its Holy Spirit filled, holy and separate from the profane, No mixture.
ORIGINAL: It’s Original & creative, Holy Spirit inspired, no copycat sounds that I know of.
INDEPENDENT: Independent and diligent in business. He’s not signed to Sony or an ungodly media company.
BASES LOADED: C-Micah Serves and is connected to the church while reaching the lost. He partners with fellow Christian music producers
If you want to know what the C-Micah album sounds like… Go see War Room, then get Faith Music. Faith Music came out in the middle of August 2015. War Room came out at the end of August 2015. But even though it came out before War Room, I promise you it’s very likely that almost every song in Faith Music can directly correspond to a scene in War Room. It’s almost like C-Micah watched the movie and made a soundtrack for it before it came out.



Since that’s not realistic, it’s more likely that God was trying to send out a message about PRAYER AND FAITH to the Church in this season. Thanks to God for C-Micah actually listening to the Lord and putting out an on-time Word.



New Themes for Christian Rap Found in Faith Music:



FIYAH

Theme: Holy Ghost fire. Best rap song about Gods Presence ever. I think every C-Micah concert should be packed just for this song alone. It just sets the tone for faith in a LIVING God that is real and does things today thru the power of the Holy Ghost.

War Room Soundtrack: When Miss Clara makes a great illustration to Elizabeth Jordan using lukewarm coffee. Miss Clara shows up in the movie filled with the Holy Ghost and tries to pass that fire on to Elizabeth.



I PRAY

Theme: Prayer. “I pray, I pray, I do this everyday.” Nuff said. This song encourages me so much. MC Hammer did a rap song about prayer back in the day but this song is on a whole different level of power.



War Room Soundtrack: When Miss Clara teaches Elizabeth how to pray based on faith in the Scriptures. Soon her daughter is doing it too.



FILLED WITH IT

Theme: The Holy Ghost. In a genre that generally focuses on the intellectual elements of the Bible, C-Micah is bold about using the power and gifts of the Holy Ghost to lift up Christ. He’s already admitted it was a mistake to call the Holy Ghost an “it” instead of “Him” (the song was already mastered when he realized the mistake)… but other than that the song is super solid.

FAITH TALK

Theme: Faith – when you talk about faith most Christians either take it as something you do once when you believe in Christ, or a heresy for those greedy for money… but C-Micah opens up his life to show you how his belief in the Word of God helps him speak in agreement with God concerning every area in His life. War Room Soundtrack: When Miss Clara gets Elizabeth wife to write down scriptures of what she believes in her prayer room.



HEALER

Theme: Jesus Christ the Healer. It’s rare you hear a gospel rapper preach and give testimony about Jesus the Healer. C-Micah gets personal about how God healed his own wife. Rob Redeemed rips his verse as well.
VANITY

Theme: Chasing after earthly things. In this song C-Micah tells a story of a rapper who uses his faith for the wrong things and ends up living a life of vanity. This is a powerful song where he contrasts discipleship and real gospel music ministry with self-promotion and vanity. Faith is powerful, so we need to be continually warned not to waste it on things that don’t please God. Balance is critical. Don’t waste your faith on that vanity!

“Gotta get these lines right really get these lines right

Sayin I promote Christ but really want the limelight

War Room Soundtrack: When Tony Jordan, the successful salesman in the movie goes to church and claims to be a Christian, but is instead chasing vanity and lust.



HE IS GOOD

Theme: The Goodness of God A lot of the best C-Micah hits have to do with God being good. This beat by Bishop Chase brings a techno/dance feel that any dance dj would find easy to spin.



War Room Soundtrack: This reminds me of Miss Clara when she was dancing and rejoicing after Elizabeth’s breakthrough.



FAITHFUL

Theme: The Faithfulness of God. A nice rap worship song. Most rap worship songs are strongest on the parts where they are singing, not rapping. But I could really see this song doing well in a live setting as accapella spoken word and chorus.



CHANGED

Theme: Salvation. I don’t wanna do wrong no more. C-Micah takes us back to the milk with a new take on the classic gospel rap salvation song. See Video Here.



War Room Soundtrack: Tony Jordan, the salesman in War Room… repents God, to his wife, to his daughter, to his former employer because he is working out his salvation with fear and trembling.



HERE’S MY HANDS:

Theme: Surrendering with your hands. This is my favorite song on the album. An amazing Geeda beat anyone could dance or to ride to. This is a great song about repentance and surrendering to God with your HANDS… aka actions. K Drama and Rio sound great on their verses. I think the world needs to hear more K-drama and C-Micah collaborations!



War Room Soundtrack: When Tony Jordan sees his wife submitting to him even though he’s wrong, God changes his heart and he starts to Surrender!



GET GONE

Theme: Spiritual Warfare In this song C-Micah takes authority over his house and kicks the devil out. I agree with the principle of resisting the devil, but I don’t agree with the practice of regularly praying to the devil. The devil is not omnipresent – Only God is omnipresent. So 99.99% of our prayers should be focused on God, unless you are in a – .01% chance – prayer session where the devil shows up. However if you discern an evil spirit in your house by all means put him out in the name of Jesus. That’s what I think this song addresses.



War Room Soundtrack: This matches the scene in War Room where Elizabeth Jordan goes outside to rebuke the devil and cast his presence out of her house.



OVERALL BSAC RATINGS:

Lyrics:

Biblical- 10/10: On time, on point, Holy Spirit inclusive Word. Very timely for the Body of Christ – not only attacking problems, but mainly giving Spiritual solutions.

Excellent- 8.5/10: Clear Rhymes, Timing excellent. Not overly complicated lyrically, but you will hear some really clever punchlines sprinkled throughout each song. Very clear communicator. Can be repetitive.

Creative – 9.5/10: Southern swag, but still unique. You can tell he’s being himself, which is always good to hear. Wooah!

Music:

Biblical – 10/10: The producers on the album are music ministries, and were 100% gospel ministry focused at the time of the album production.

Excellent – 10/10: Sounds good, clear… well produced and mastered as far as I can hear.

Creative – 9/10: Overall Southern vibe, with a couple of different feels sprinkled in like dance, rock, worship.

Ministry:

Biblical – 10/10. The Ministry of “Faith Music” is biblical, many of the songs can be used to build up the Body of Christ, and a couple of them are evangelistic.

Excellent – 10/10. C-Micah has been doing his thing for a while, and everything is done well, and done independently. He’s a member of BSAC so you know he’s not for no foolishness!

Creativity – 9/10. Artwork is good, the gospel net is cast, videos have been released, and a release concert was done in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.
