The duo of singer-songwriters known as Cloe Bernard and Eddie Paton is about to release their new LP record album, “Rendez-vous,” to the delight of fans and critics everywhere. The album is being released on the Cloral Mosaic Productions music label. It includes 10 tracks for an approximate total running time of nearly 40 minutes. Often found in the pop and adult contemporary music genres, it actually combines many different music styles, including but not limited to ballads, Latin music, bossa nova, rock & roll, and more. A remarkable achievement from two of Canada's most accomplished musicians, “Rendez-vous” by Eddie Paton and Cloe Bernard is not an album to be missed.
By far, the main attraction on Bernard and Paton's new album is the intertwining of their vocals. Their voices are unladen by unnecessary effects of any kind, and their natural timbres commingle like rich, married wines. Duets abound on the record, and more precise, gorgeous harmonies have scarcely been recorded. Bernards delicate, feminine tones are reminiscent of Francoise Hardy, while Paton's own clarion voice is as bright and pronounced as a spring morning. Lyrics are penned half in English, half in French, all of them delightfully fun and playfully phrased. Paton's fantastic guitar playing is the obvious work of a highly skilled virtuoso. His instrumentation carries the record easily and airily, and compliments both the excellent songwriting (absolutely marvelous) and stupendous vocal performances better than most of the most successful and popular classic pop songs from the last fifty years.
In short, “Rendez-vous” by Cloe Bernard and Eddie Paton is likely one of the best releases this year, and sure to become a timeless favorite of music collectors all around the globe. Audiophiles everywhere should take note and get in early on this one.

Two impressive talents with two unique styles unite in this delightful and passionate collection of songs that stir the emotions and cheer the heart. Some may call the music sunny folk /pop and others may call it sultry Latin jazz, but this aptly-named album RENDEZ-VOUS is both; the place where these two artists and their individual styles meet. With this winning combination, the album is already making remarkable strides in the U.S with licensing deals and airplay.
It was studio/record label Cloral Mosaic Productions that brought these two superb musicians together. Cloé, having spent years fronting big bands with brass sections and performing at major festivals in Quebec, throughout Ontario and the U.S. (specifically in the Napa Valley area), is already a 25-year veteran in the music industry. She is married to Real Gratton, co-owner of Cloral Mosaic, who also produced the album. Gratton is a talented musician in his own right, often playing as a duet with Cloé.
Eddie, who had gained a considerable reputation as a versatile guitarist, singer, composer and award-winning musician, was thriving in his eclectic career. Much of the recognition came from his stellar work with the popular band Sultans of String, as well as the critically acclaimed music project ReDuX:RMx. Eddie is also a Latin category winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for his instrumental masterpiece “Palmas”. He has played in many other bands and on countless other recordings. During the time of their band Mosaic, with Gratton and co-owner and Director of Promotions and Marketing, Rennie Ali, Real met Eddie and they became guitar partners. Eddie would attend Mosaic`s shows and a great friendship ensued. After hearing Cloe sing and with chemistry abounding, they decided to collaborate on this album.
Besides the chemistry, the musical artistry and skill of Cloé Bernard and Eddie Paton is evident right off the top. One is immediately drawn to their vocal prowess, the beautiful harmonies (especially on “Make Me Smile”), and Paton’s virtuosic guitar solos. Each song on the 10-track album alternates with Bernard and Paton taking the lead. Bernard’s smooth, buttery tones singing in French meld well with Paton’s sometimes playful gypsy jazz licks as in the much-touted “Tout Ca” or the nearly flamenco style in the upbeat tune “Deviens Vivant” and the more melancholic “Tourne en Rond” – which is somewhat reminiscent of the sounds of Kate and Anna McGarrigle. Eddie’s distinct passion and unabashedly romantic ideals are clearly expressed in melody, lyrics and harmonies. The soulfully uplifting rhythms and vocals in the powerful “Make Me Smile,” “Secret’s in My Heart” and the more bouncy tune “By My Side” drive the messages home.
Recorded, engineered and produced by Cloral Mosaic Productions’ Real Gratton who also plays lead guitar on “Mots Caches,” the album RENDEZ-VOUS includes several fine musicians such as Bernard d’Anjou (bass), Drew Birston (electric bass) and the illustrious Rosendo Leon Chendy Arocha (drums and percussion).

Cloe Bernard
Cloe Bernard has been entertaining audiences for over twenty-five years, having performed for over 100,000 faces. Heavy with talent, raw energy, and the ability to excite an audience, Cloe, with her powerful voice and dynamic connection with audiences, spent years fronting large bands that featured full brass sections at major festivals in Quebec often backed up by some luminaries in that Province's music industry and then playing as a duet with her husband and Producer, Real Gratton, in more intimate venues in California's famed Napa Valley. She now lives and performs for audiences across Ontario, Canada.
OK, I think I'm in love with Cloe. I've never seen her, but I'm definitely in love. The song [Tout ca] is beautifully recorded and performed. The vocals have the same qualities, but also have a slightly playful, yet vulnerable tone, due to the sound of this excellent French singer. Excellent work and beautiful song! It was a pleasure listening.
