Bio
CHRONOLUNG is a declaration, a sound, an innovative mixture of staccato riffs and heavy melodic rhythms defining a new genre of rock music. Their dynamic and soulful live performance substantiates that Chronolung is set to ignite a new form of musicianship and is the band that will bring rock-n-roll back to pop culture. Their tight, original music and power house performances has had them opening for bands such as Clutch, Periphery, The Daylights, Vains of Jenna, The Memorials, Broken Teeth and Andrew Ripp as well as playing The Pecan Street Festival, The Rumble Tour, Texas Rockfest and Rock Raizer Benefit. The guys are currently working with Producer/Engineer Stuart Epps (Led Zeppelin, Elton John) on an EP to be released January 2012.
COLLIN FISH - guitar, vocals and songwriter. Collin, spearheads the lyrics and music. His influences come from classic rock/metal bands such as Led Zeppelin and Pantera, as well as other styles such as Latin guitarist Al Dimeola. He plays primarily on a Music Man Axis and Music Man Reflex through a Marshall amp.
KEVIN FISH - drums. Kevin is the cornerstone of Chronolung’s tight sound. Influenced by early rock drummers such as Bonham and Bozzio and gravitating towards fusion drummers such as Thomas Pridgeon and Tony Royster, Jr., this mix of styles gives his playing a very unique feel. Kevin plays on a Sonor drum set.
IAN GRIMES - bass. Ian started to play the bagpipe at age 11 with guitar and piano prior. Playing for schools and rock shows, the bagpipe is Ian’s unique talent. He is influenced by many different styles of music. From Classic Rock to Metal, Hip Hop, Jazz and Electronic; anything with rhythm and Ian is satisfied. Ian performs his head-banging bass on a Fender Precision through a Marshal Half-Stack.
Chronolung released a self-titled EP in March, 2011. That same month during SXSW week they played 6 shows in 4 days including the main stage at Texas Rockfest. They recently won the School of Rock sponsored Battle of the Bands Benefit at Emo’s in Austin, TX.
