Bio
On a sweltering day, driving on the Los Angeles busy freeway, Christopher Taylor decided he'd had enough. In a flash like an epiphany he realized that is was time to leave the pressures of life and head north to devote himself to music.
Christopher had always been deeply moved by music and had always felt that it was his true calling. A gifted drummer from an early age, he turned his attention from drumming to writing songs on the guitar, helping him to express in words the complexity of his own life-changes. At the same time, however he realized that by leaving his old life behind and beginning a new one, he had started a quest that was as spirutual as it was musical.
"Even though I'd been playing the drums since the age of five, I didn't start singing and playing the guitar until I was twenty-eight. It's something of a late start, but I was determined. There was nothing else I wanted but to express my feelings through songs."
By using music as a means of tapping his deepest dreams and feelings, Christopher was in time led to create an expanding body of work that honestly and openly reflects the changes, the uncertainties, the fears and the monents of inspiration that are universal to all of human nature.
"The music has been my salvation, and the words have provieded the messages I need to hear. I live for the music. It is a gift I was given."
Christopher's music subtly conveys a sense of spirituality and self-inquiry. Strong melodies, solid rhythms and richly textured harmonies make a powerful and fitting backdrop for a lifestyle of self-growth and personal inquiry.
Christopher crafts his music with jewel-like precision, collaborating on production with Organically Grown Music co-founder Johnny Om, and Jack Lee, veteran of the legendary bluegrass super-group, The Earl Scruggs Review, and Tracy Nelson's Mother Earth. Further musical support comes from Richard Hardy (Denver Symphony, Carole King, Dave Matthews Band), M. B. Gordy (The Doobie Brothers, John Tesh, Rita Coolidge) and Onyay Pheori (Shakti Tribe).
"Love's Around the Corner" is a song about determination and human courage, to persist in following your dreams even when feeling your lowest.
"Christopher Taylor creates music that will leave you wanting more. His heartfelt lyrics and memorable songs will please your ears and touch your soul. -Eugene Foley, Foley Entertainment, Inc.
"Christopher Taylor's voice is so beautiful, so deep and passionate, as is his music ... moving every emotion in my sould". April Miranda, Mountain Beat Music, openmindradio.com
