"It's possible to hear influences of artists ranging from the likes of Ron Hynes to Sloan in his work. And like his influences,
Picco is ready to have his turn on the radio. So stay tuned - you're bound to hear him." - The Downhome (March 2007).
"He continues to channel his thoughts into lyrics and music, layering melodies that stick in your brain long after the stereo is turned off."
Mandy Cook - The Independant (Dec 7th, 2007)
With Chris Picco's infectiously sing-alongable choruses, Mark Nearys deft hand in the albums meticulous production and an all-star personnel list including Neary, Elliot Dicks, Mick Davis (all of Novaks fame), Jimmy Rose, and Mark Bragg, Ferris Wheel is bound to one of the most talked about releases of the coming year."
AP - The Scope (Dec 2007)
"Ferris Wheel is probably the best Newfoundland pop album of 2007, sporting a musical and lyrical finesse that
few on the island are able to flaunt."
Chris Ledrew - The Current ( Jan 10th - Jan 23rd, 2008)
"Ferris Wheel is a great, heartfelt, honest and well-written collection of songs, proof that Picco is every bit as worthy of success as his influences." - The Telegram (Friday, December 14, 2007)
"The album includes 10 tracks, which I consider to be a great development for the local music scene.
Instead of a collection of songs packaged for release, Ferris Wheel stays focused and concentrated on feelings."
Matthew Lamkin - The Muse (Jan 31, 2008)
"Picco's songs really grab you with gorgeous slices of irresistible pop that hook you in."
"Now that the long awaited full-legnth album is out, it means the dawning of a major new artist."
Kevin Kelly - The Newfoundland Herald (Dec 2 - 8, 2007)

Bio
Over the past decade, Chris Picco has established himself as one of Atlantic Canada’s most dynamic and diverse singer songwriters with multiple MusicNL and ECMA nominations both as a solo artist and as front man and songwriter for St. John’s based rockers, The Long Distance Runners. His songs have been featured on CBC’s Republic of Doyle, several independent short film scores and have received considerable airplay on AM, FM and internet radio. Newfoundland songwriter Ron Hynes has called him one of the great new songwriters to come out of Atlantic Canada.
Since 2010, Picco has kept busy with the debut release of The Long Distance Runners self-titled record and its follow-up, ‘Tracks’, to be released in April. He also appeared on legendary songwriter Kyp Harness’s ninth studio album Resurrection Gold with Ron Sexsmith and displayed his talents as a multi-instrumentalist and producer on his brother David Picco’s critically acclaimed MusicNL nominated self-titled album. He has shared the stage with a wide range of artists from Mother Mother, The Wooden Sky, Rah Rah, Mark Bragg and The Novaks to Bob Snider, Ron Sexsmith, Kyp Harness, Bob Wiseman, Bruce Guthro, Amelia Curran and Ron Hynes.
Currently, Chris is keeping busy songwriting, performing and promoting the upcoming Long Distance Runners album which will take him to the ECMA’s in Moncton in April, kicking off an eastern Canadian tour. His anticipated third solo record is due for release in late 2012.
