Commonly accepted as one of the finest pickers around, McCune is also an accomplished songwriter and recently completed his latest project, "Originals Live From The Heart of the Blue Ridge."
Accomplished as he is, McCune is more than humble about his ability as a musician, and his candor when it comes to being a musician makes his work that much better.

Bio
Two songs "Country" & "The Bitter End" selected for New Song Showcase at Winfield 2009.
Chris' interest in music came at an early age as he was exposed to a literal rainbow of musical styles from Hank Williams to The Monkees (the songs of John Stewart) and John Denver as well. While in high school Norman Blake, Doc Watson and Clarence White replaced the “pop music” interests and sure enough took over his guiding reins. These days buried within his original tunes you will recognize the influences of John Hartford, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Dan Fogelberg and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. You will also catch glimpses of John Prine and detect the impact of guitar wizard Leo Kottke. Chris' first professional stage performance was offered to him in 1983 and he has not veered off his path since.
Name Droppin' (Chris has shared stages with):
Charlie Daniels, Arlo Guthrie, Stephen Stills, Cyndi Lauper, Dickey Betts, Willie Nelson, Matt "Guitar" Murphy, John Fahey, Peter Lang, Leo Kottke, Mickey Newbury, Sonny Throckmorton, Hank Cochran, Red Lane, Billy Joe Shaver, Shawn Mullins, as well as many other accomplished Nashville-based, performing songwriters.
