Bio
Filipino singer/songwriter Chesca Santos was born in Manila, Philippines where she lived for 8 years. She has also lived in Hong Kong for 4 years, Taipei, Taiwan for 8 years, and currently resides in Boston, MA where she is pursuing a bachelors of music at the Berklee College Of Music. Living in so many places has caused her to be interested in what goes on in the world, inspiring songs such as Sound The Siren. Raging Shades of Emotion, her first EP, was released in Taiwan and the Philippines in 2004, and Reserved for Insults was released 2 years later in 2006. Chesca is a vocalist who also plays guitar and piano. Her music style is acoustic rock/emo and some of her vocal influences are Alanis Morrisette, Courtney Love of Hole, and the Cranberries. Musically, she is highly influenced by Taking Back Sunday, Brand new, and the instrumental band The Album Leaf. Some of her favorite bands are Explosions In The Sky and the Yeah Yeah Yeah's.
She is a very experienced gigging musician, with some notable performances being Walk For Music (Summer 2006-Acoustic Set in Boston), Berklee Performance Center (March 17th, 2007-Womens Musicians Network-Full Band), Middle East (April 7th, 2007-Battle Of The Bands finalist-2nd place-full band), Berklee Performance Center (April 20th, 2007-Rockergirl Women Of Valor Night honoring Fanny-Vocalist), All Asia (November 10th, 2007-Beats Against Brain Cancer-Benefit-Full Band), and Berklee Performance Center (March 6th, 2008-Women's Musicians Network-Full Band).
