Band Bio
Cherri Fosphate have been extremely busy since starting out, back in February 2010. Playing shows Relentlessly in and around Glasgow the band have made a great name for themselves in the city and have a great following which saw them sell out Glasgows King Tuts on Saturday the 5th of January 2013. They have supported the likes of Dry The River, The Crookes, Vigo Thieves and have played at Brew at the Bog, a great music festival in the Highlands of Scotland, which saw them play alongside bands such as Three Blind Wolves, Washington Irving, Endor, Kitty The Lion and many more.
They were part of GoNorth 2012 and played at Belladrum 2012 with the likes of Travis and Frightened Rabbit. They have had a very successful Headline Tour around Scotland in February 2012 and a great Headline Tour of England in March 2012 and another Tour of the U.K in November 2012.
Cherri Fosphate have had their fair share of airplay including: BBC introducing with Vic Galloway (song called Bugsy) and have also had a great stream of Airplay with debut single Passion on Jim Gellatly's Amazing Radio Broadcasts. Passion has also been included in Jim Gellatly's Clyde 1 In:Demand Broadcasts and on Ally McCrae's Radio 1 BBC Introducing...in Scotland Broadcasts, aswell as having airplay in the U.S mostly New York (Brooklyn and Queens), Long Island and Southern Connecticut and around L.A. The video was also put up on NME online. The band also received a review in The Scottish Sun on the 29th of July 2011.
O'Neill Clothing also made b-side Raspberry Asbestos their song of the week and was up for a FREE download on the O'Neill website and Facebook page in April 2012.
Their track Raspberry Asbestos was featured on Netsounds Unsigned and was also selected by Yvonne McLellan (regional scout for Island Records) to be played on Ally McCrae's BBC radio 1's Introducing broadcast (in Scotland and England).
They have built up a great following in the past year in Glasgow and are trying to get their music out to a wider audience and do what they love to do which is to play a great live show! They have recorded their new single entitled 'Lady Aniseed Hijacked My Car ' in July 2012 with Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic, We Were Promised Jetpacks, FatherSon) and was released on the 24th of November 2012.
Cherri Fosphate - Once again they delivered a superb set of radio friendly anthems that will surely see them signed in the very near future.
( Netsounds Unsigned )
The distant rumble of Cherri Fosphate literally lured me away from the hot beverages on arrival and they made a great impression with their accessible guitar sound which clearly owes a lot to We Were Promised Jetpacks, but with vocals more like Robert Smith ( PopCop )
An early slot for Cherri Fosphate, just after the He Slept on 57 boys on the Go North stage, proved no obstacle as they continued to add drive and energy to a set you sat up and took notice of. ( Inverness Gigs )
