NY-born but Boston-raised, Melodi J. has come to take the music industry by storm! With an abnormally creative mind, this singer-songwriter-vocal arranger masters all endeavors she pursues with grace, persistency and excellence. Melodi J. has already embarked on numerous endeavors, completing several songwriting projects with artists such as Nato, SunnySide Music Group and ALG of Boston and L.A and Scienze of Brooklyn, NY, and opening up shows for artists, such as Lloyd of Young Money and Big Sean, and appearing in the new Brooklyn born hip-hop movement “ We Got Bars”. She has also had the privilege of performing at the 2011 New England Urban Music Awards, as well as appearing on various blogs and radio shows, FM and online. With a B.A in American Studies/Black Political Thought from Wesleyan University ’ 09, Melodi J. is not simply a beautiful face or voice, but also a beautiful mind. In the hopes of sharing her knowledge and love for music with music addicts, Melodi J. joined MADonly.com as an Editor-in Chief of “ Brain Food”/Personality in 2009. She has acted as Talent Coordinator/Escort for BET's new annual, celebratory awards show for influential black girls, "Black Girl's Rock". As a songwriter, Melodi J. truly delivers heart-filled tunes of various genres, ranging from Neo-soul to Pop to R&B, and her artistry and passion for good music reflects in her work. She is, currently, focusing solely on her solo career as a musician and hopes to influence younger generations of music, while touching the hearts and souls of music lovers around the world and reminding her fans of the authenticity of R&B. Her first mixtape is set to be released in December. With your ears wide open and your eyes wide shut, focus your attention and absorb all that is harmonious and melodic through Melodi J.
