CatsMelvin

This year CatsMelvin has seen many changes but nothing compared to the artwork Juli Adams has created for them. There was something interesting about her work that caught the eyes of singer Michael Amend from CatsMelvin that he insisted that she was a part of the visual side of his art. What is Adams style? “It’s hard to describe,” said Adams. “If there’s a word for it, I guess it would be kind of surreal.”(Clayton-RichmondHeights)

There may not be words yet to explain the work of Adams because it may be the beginning of something new. Art collector John Horseman and his wife discovered Adams at the Saint Louis Art Fair in St. Louis, MO and purchased not one but two of her pieces. To this day her pieces are the only ones of a living artist that Horseman possesses. Horseman has a book published about his collection found on Amazon titled “Regional Dialect: American Scene Paintings from the John and Susan Horseman Collection”.

Her recent work includes the CatsMelvin font and a skeleton cat character that will be used for promotional materials this year. She will also be creating the artwork for the upcoming album featuring Rockband hit “Wrong Side” that will be released early 2013. Joining storied bands including Evanescence, Tina Guo, Gary Dean Smith and others, Lincoln, Nebraska-based rock group CatsMelvin have just had their song “Wrong Side” licensed for use by online gaming giant Rock Band Network. Through the use of games, songs, leaderboards, battles and forums, Rock Band Network provides exposure to millions of new potential fans via online sales as a valuable, viable distribution platform.

CatsMelvin are set to embark on a national ten-city tour (dubbed the “Rock Band Nation Tour” in honor of their new deal with the online gamers)
