“Edgar Romney, the secretary treasurer of Workers United, served as master of ceremonies for the event while young people like Caryn Sever led the crowd in a singalong of Ralph Chapin's pro-union song, "Solidarity Forever." Students from Eugene Lang College at the New School for Liberal Arts performed a number from their musical "From the Fire," based on the Triangle incident. The attendees responded to both performances with raucous applause. ”

Bio
Caryn Sever rediscovered her love of folk music while playing guitar and singing on the street corners in Portland, Oregon. A classically trained singer, she brings fluid emotion to her own brand of acoustic folk rock. Unique and melodic, Caryn's voice combines the raw power of soul with quirky arioso like touches that create her distinctive style of folk rock.
Although she's lived in Manhattan, West Virginia, and Oregon, she currently resides in Northern Virginia. There you can catch her live at bars such as The Red and The Black in Washington, DC, Union Jacks in Bethesda, MD, The Whiskey in Annapolis, MD. Caryn also plays live shows in NYC at places such as The Sip Lounge in Harlem, and Cin M Arts Space 17 in Tribeca. Catch her songs on Itunes, Napster, Amazon, and many internet radio stations.
