"Capital News Album Review "Fall for Me""

Throaty warm vocals caress the ear in Caroline Taylor-Knight’s debut CD release Fall For Me. Caroline has a contemporary sound that is definitely on the edge of crossover pop, but the pleasure of her vocals and the sensitive production and backing more than cover the purists’ murmurings. Piano and strings play a big part in the backing with nary a banjo or fiddle to be heard (if you don’t count violin.) The title track Fall for Me is tender and charming. Caroline wrote or co-wrote each of the 11 tracks with the exception of the TEXAS classic I Don’t Want a Lover. The sweet intensity of Where Do I Run? is so lovely, as is the exhilarating Loving You. Kite is another spirit lifting track you can listen to it over and over. The songs are beautiful – not traditional, but there’s plenty of room for contemporary country.” Capital News - Capital News

"Country Update Album Review "Fall for Me""

“Fall for Me is the debut album for talented newcomer Caroline Taylor-Knight. All but one of the songs have been penned by Caroline who has already been nominated for songwriting awards. Her voice has a depth and feeling, and at times an appealing sweetness, while at other times it is throaty and sensuous. Caroline’s style is contemporary rather than traditional country and ‘Where Do I Run?’ could easily sit comfortably on the pop charts. ‘Dance With Me’ is sung with intensity but Caroline also displays an uplifting spirit on the song ‘Kite’. This is not the album for those who are looking for traditional country instrumentation; it’s more about orchestration creating the mood. Fall For Me is produced by Caroline’s husband, award winning producer, Duncan Wood.” Country Update - Country Update

ME AGAIN

CAROLINE TAYLOR-KNIGHT Touchwood

This is CAROLINE TAYLOR-KNIGHT’s second album, and it’s the one that will finally get her noticed by the country music industry. The appeal of this album is its vulnerability and honesty - it has a kind of “heart on your sleeve” quality that instantly draws you in. In songs like Me Again, Thanks To You and the evocative Dance For You, Caroline captures real emotion and conveys it beautifully. There’s also feisty tracks like Enough and Bring It On, and Caroline delves into the past for inspiration on the appealing Country Girl and Young Summer Days. But it’s her insightful songs into the nature of love that really stand out. Are You There? Looks at the gradual drifting apart that happens in a relationship, and Love Is An Action is a powerful and very different take on love. Produced by Duncan Wood, Me Again is a classy, perceptive album that reveals Caroline’s vocal abilities and her fine songwriting. It’s an absolute delight.

""Hearts and Minds""

BY SUSAN JARVIS

CAROLINE TAYLOR-KNIGHT describes herself as a
“heart on my sleeve” kind of songwriter.I have always admired writers who lay
their souls bare. That’s the kind of person I am, and somehow it’s the
way I always write,” she said. Which is why Caroline’s new
album - her second - is such a personal journey into the heart and mind of this talented newcomer to country music.

Even the album’s title, Me Again, reveals a lot about its creator.

“It is a very personal album. I’ve reached a place in my music and my life where I feel very comfortable about who I am and where I belong, and in many ways this album is a reflection of that, and also a celebration of reaching that point,” Caroline said.

Over the last few years, Caroline has notched up several successes on the Brisbane
country music scene, including being a finalist for Best New Talent in the QRA
Awards, performing as support act for DARYL BRAITHWAITE and being the voice of Australia Post’s Rock Australia stamps launch.

Produced by husband DUNCAN WOOD, Me Again is a journey through some of the
moments and experiences that make up a life.

The title track, Me Again, holds the various strands of album together, and provides a powerful insight into this talented songwriter.

“This is a very emotional track for me. It’s about being comfortable in your own skin after a lifetime of being otherwise, and finally being able to feel good about it,” Caroline said.

Two of the album’s other standout tracks come from a very different place, however.
Enough, the first radio single, is a scream of frustration, written by the side of the road with a broken down car after a few rough weeks.

“It seemed so bad it was actually comical. I think the emotions of the moment are captured in it very well,” Caroline said.

But there’s a follow-up to Enough in the form of Bring It On – when things just get so bad that it becomes a challenge.

“The human spirit comes through at the strangest moments, when things get really tough. And in this song, there’s a glimmer of hope that something good has to
happen,” Caroline said.

As well as reflecting on the tough patches, Caroline delves into the past for inspiration on Country Girl.

“I grew up on farms and had to go to boarding school, then lived in the city before moving back to acreage. This is a song about having a foot in both worlds. I’ll
always be a country girl, though,” Caroline said.

There are several exquisite love songs on this album, as well as songs that explore aspects of love. Thanks To You is a heartfelt thank you song for Caroline’s husband and producer Duncan, and she’s gone a step further with the seductive Dance For You.

“I still can’t stop myself blushing terribly when I sing that one live. But it’s also a lot of fun,” Caroline said.

But it is her insightful songs into the nature of love that really stand out on this album. They include the new single Are You There? which looks at the way
people can sometimes lose sight of each other in a relationship, and the impressive Love Is An Action - one of Me Again’s best songs.

“Sometimes the people we love are the ones who hurt us the most by taking us for granted. You have to show people you love them, not just tell them,” Caroline said.

Under Duncan’s guiding hand, Caroline has found a distinctive and very personal musical style with Me Again, and she says it has transformed her life and her music.

“Finding your sound is really important for a songwriter, otherwise you’re constantly floundering, trying to discover who you are musically. It has been a very positive
experience,” she said.

The crowds at the Tamworth Festival were treated to a sneak preview of Me Again, and responded enthusiastically.

The album’s will be launched officially in Brisbane this month, and is set to make the country music industry sit up and take notice of this very talented singer/songwriter. - Capital News

""Me Again" - Caroline Taylor-Knight"

Still riding a wave of exhausted excitement from six shows at Tamworth with her Touchwood Productions family, Caroline Taylor-Knight takes a moment to catch her breath and chat with Belinda Boyce about her new album "Me Again".

Self confessed music junkie, Caroline Taylor-Knight's second album "Me Again" excites the palate with a mixture of heartfelt ballads and country rockers. It's safe to say that Caroline has finally found her sound - it just happens to be a diverse and eclectic one.

"This album is definitely more country than my last and it was great to work with Duncan (her husband and producer). We had a fresh slate and could build it from the ground up," she said.

"I wrote eight songs on the album and co-wrote three with Duncan".

The title of the album "Me Again" is a double entendre according to Caroline. "It's my second album so I am saying hello it's me again, but on a deeper level I've finally found the real me on this album and I'm really happy with that."

Before the beckoning of a music career hijacked her heart, country girl Caroline followed her head and succumbed to the pressures of economics and family expectations. " I completed a Marketing degree at university and worked in the Marketing Department of Australia Post". Non the less, Caroline couldn't shake the feeling that this life wasn't for her.

"The city life and corporate world never appealed to me and I was really torn, I express this stage of my life on the track "Country Girl"."

However, fate was lurking close by, and in 2002 Caroline was invited to perform at the Australia Post's Rock Australia Stamp series launch. Following the success of this performance Caroline was quickly booked to open a major football game at the Brisbane ANZ Stadium.

As Caroline stepped up to the microphone in front of a full to capacity stadium, with her knees threatening to give way at any moment, she had a life changing realisation.

"I was so nervous, however as I began to sing I felt completely peaceful. I became overwhelmingly calm and right there I knew I had to pursue my passion for music."

Caroline reminisces, "This was such a big milestone in my music career and also my personal life, as it was where I met Duncan, he was playing in the band."

She quips "It was very hard to go back to work on Monday."

Eight years on and the once corporate lady from the CBD has returned to her country roots.

I've found my rightful place in the world, it's been a long journey but I've shed my insecurities and am content in my own skin and life," Caroline said.

This contagious enthusiasm for life and love is found on tracks "Me Again", "Dance for You" and "Thanks to You".

Caroline is the first person to acknowledge that fate hasn't always been on her side. However, it is her ability to milk that past experience of loss, pain and frustration for lyric and rhyme that makes Caroline a strong and accessible songwriter and performer.

"Enough" was written on the side of the road waiting for the RACQ after my car had broken down. It had been a tough week and this is a song I think everyone can relate to."

Caroline is also inspired to write from situations and friends experiences. The single "Are You There?" was written while witnessing the angst and heartbreak close friends suffered during their separation.

She wears her heart on her sleeve with her innate vulnerability and tender side clear for all to see, and her latest album "Me Again" is no exception.

Her sensuous vocals thrust audiences along the emotional journey that Caroline has traveled to a tranquil destination - from tears and heartache to the luxury of love and fulfillment she inhabits today.

"Me Again" will be released on February 10 and is available from Caroline's website www.carolinetaylorknight.com . - Country Update

Bio

Caroline Taylor-Knight was born in a small country town 600 kilometres west of Sydney and grew up on farms in Central NSW and Central Queensland. Her introduction to the spotlight came at 10 years old when she performed solo in front of 1,000 people from her local community and many low key performances followed. Caroline did modelling and acting in her late teens, whilst completing her Marketing degree but music was always her true love.

Since then Caroline has written and released an independent EP, which generated interest from a number of record companies and publishers, was aired on several commercial radio stations and saw her nominated for Best New Talent at the QRA (Queensland Recording Association) Awards in Brisbane. It also sparked the interest of a Gold Coast events co-coordinator, who promptly placed her as the support act for Daryl Braithwaite. Exceedingly impressed by Caroline's performance, the said promoter immediately offered her supports for both Vanessa Amorosi and James Morrison's upcoming concerts. After Daryl's concert, local record stores phoned the promoter, asking if Caroline had a CD available, as they had been flooded with customers asking to purchase her album. Caroline was also booked to launch Australia Post's Rock Australia Stamp series at the Brisbane GPO series and organisers were so impressed that they invited her to perform four songs (including one of her originals) to open a major football game in Brisbane for a stadium crowd of 20,000 people. The show was incredibly well received and a career highlight to date.

Fuelled by this success and attracting the attention of award-winning producer Duncan Wood (both professionally and personally), Caroline put her heart and soul into recording her debut album Fall for Me, on which she wrote or co-wrote all but one of the eleven tracks. Fall for Me is now available to order in good music stores nationally in Australia, on iTunes and through her website shop.

Just some of the events that Caroline has performed at in recent years include: the Caboolture Cultural Forum; Queensland Music Festival's Caboolture Drumming (4000 people attended) and Lift Every Voice; WAM Fest; New Zealand's Parachute Festival; the Songwriters' Cafe and Next Generation Station at the Urban Country Music Festival; and the Coca-Cola Stage, Buttercup Stage and the Toyota Outdoor Stage & Touchwood Stage at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Caroline has been featured two issues of Talent magazine in Australia and received glowing album reviews in both Capital News and Country Update. Her singles "Fall for Me" and "Forever" have been on high rotation and have charted on radio in seven national retail chains including Kmart and have received airplay across Australia on country and community radio as well as cable TV radio stations and internationally on Internet Radio. Caroline’s debut video clip "Fall for Me" is airing on CMC, with more clips coming soon.

Caroline released her second album "Me Again" in 2010 produced by Duncan Wood and it is now available to order in all good music stores, on iTunes or at touchwoodproductions.com/shop.htm . It is a dynamic, compelling and personal album that opens an exciting new chapter in Caroline’s career. The first single "Enough" proved popular on country radio reaching number 14 on 98.9fm’s All Australian Top 20 and her second single "Are You There?" has gave Caroline her first national chart hit, reaching number 15 on the CMR Top 30. Her third single “Country Girl” is Caroline's first Top Ten reaching number 5 on 98.9fm’s All Australian Top 20. Caroline was a finalist in the Sapphire Award Category at the Channel C Blue Shoe Awards in December 2010 where she also performed and presented an award. Her latest single "Love is an Action" has just been released to Country Radio. Caroline is looking forward to filming more video clips and a live DVD (proudly supported by the Moreton Bay Regional Council and Arts Queensland) in the coming months, along with many more shows with label-mates Dane Sharp, Jessica Townsend and Duncan Wood and the Touchwood band (Darren Scott, Don Macarthur, Micah Reimers and Arno Cassidy) as the Touchwood Come Together Tour continues. Kicking off with a big Tamworth, 2011 is set to be a huge year for this talented artist.
