This is one of the most versitile CD's I heard in a long time. I can find so many songs that I enjoy but Secret Place may be my favorite. I think Carmen has International appeal and I think her music should be heard all over the world. If you don't pick this CD up you don't know what your missing. Broken and Blessed is a must for listening pleasure and you may here God speak thur these wonderful songs.

Carmen is simply amazing! Her vocals captivate the mind and sould of the believer. If you don't believe trust me after one listen to Carmen and you'll won't wait to repent. Songwriter, Author, and Inspirational Artist Carmen Calhoun is so much more than just a Christian Singer; she is a living testimony of the power of Gods grace, mercy, and anointing. Born in a Prince Frederick, MD, Carmen is the youngest out of 10 siblings. She grew up listening to music artists such as Barbara Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, The Emotions, Jean Karn, and Mahilia Jackson, giving her an appreciation for diverse sounds. It was during this time that she began to recognize her love for music and her gift of song. Since then she has developed her passion for music into a budding career. To date, she has received honors including winning 1st place in the 2004 ISC Songwriters Competition, 2005 Unisong Songwriters Competition, the 2006 John Lennon Songwriters Competition, and the 2007 Songwriters Competition. She has also received honorable mention with Billboards songwriters Competition for You Take My Breath Away," "Broken and Blessed," and "I Am With Thee. Also, her song Broken and Blessed was a top 5 finalist for the VH1 song of the year songwriters competition.
Carmen enjoys traveling both nationally and internationally, spreading the undeniable power of Gods word through music. She has visited Africa, England, Mexico, and Peru, blessing people from various cultures with her amazing voice. Carmens lyrics are courageous; bringing personal struggles to light to promote healing and deliverance through submission and relationship with God or as Carmen calls Him, Daddy. Carmens music is versatile, breaking traditional barriers in Christian music. Her ministrys vision: To promote unity within the body of Christ, and become all things to all people to save one unto Christ. She currently has two studio albums, Life and Broken and Blessed, and i am. Carmen currently resides in Prince Frederick, MD.
