Nashville-based singer/songwriter Carla Cappa is releasing her second single and video on August 20. “My Heart is Beating Again” is addictive track that proves Carla to be an exciting new forerunner in the independent pop community.
Carla’s gift as a songwriter is crafting memorable, singable and danceable songs that connect to the experience of young and old, guys and girls. About “My Heart is Beating Again,” Carla says, "When I was writing this song, I had this picture of walking around feeling numb inside and just going through the motions of day to day life. I think this is something we all go through at some point, whether we realize it or not. And then you meet someone or come to a life-altering realization and all of a sudden it's like you're awake, and your heart is literally beating again. It's an amazing feeling. I was trying to capture that actual feeling and imaging in this song."
The accompanying video is a perfect visual representation of Carla as an artist and person. Colorful and playful, she recalls, “I wanted the video to really capture my personality. I absolutely cannot dance at all…which you will see in the video. I wanted it to be quirky, but most importantly capture the vibe of the song.” Tristan Jackson, actor and lead singer of The Calvary is featured. - Talent In Boarders

“The music career of Christopher Dock grad Carla Cappa, 21, has her living half her life in Blue Bell and the other half in Nashville. Her latest single, “Pull Me Under,” was released on iTunes last week. It was recorded and produced by Lower Gwynedd resident and National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Philadelphia Chapter president David Ivory. Beneath the song’s upbeat, catchy, breezy pop exterior lies some dark lyrics about an old friend. “I had this idea of being drowned by someone. It’s called ‘Pull Me Under’ because you’re trying to reach the top of something, but they won’t let you go,” said Cappa in a phone interview days before she was due in Nashville to meet with representatives of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). The “Pull Me Under” video on Cappa’s YouTube channel, garnered more than 9,500 views in two days.”
