North coast artist, Candice Casagrande, has taken second place in the prestigious Unisong International Songwriting Contest, in the pop ballard division.
The singer with a social conscience will launch her first album at the Lismore Workers’ Club, and is giving the proceeds to a very worthy cause.

Raised on the North Coast of New South Wales Australia surrounded by hills and beaches near Byron Bay Candice Casagrande developed a cutting edge pop sensibility from the age of 8, fueled by her folk roots as a classically trained flautist and prolific poet.
The prestigious Australian Vanda & Young Song Comp named Casagrande a finalist in 2009. Since then the evolving troubadour received a development grant from the PPCA Performers Trust to study in London, United Kingdom.
Having graduated and performed at renowned venues such as The O2 Arena, Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, Sommerset House in 2011. In 2012 Casagrande graced the stages of New York and went on to supported Stu Larsen on his Australian National Tour. This is an artist to watch out for in 2012 and beyond.
