...a very together jazz trio with a penchant for hip-hop verse...the most natural fusion of jazz and rap I've heard in the history of this much-hypothesized concept...
Option (09/01/1995) - Option Magazine
...uncut head-swirl, a sepia-toned Tolkien-esque wonderland of inventive wordplay, Imhotep-on-mushrooms imagery and languid improvs....a few leagues ahead of the pack in both concept and execution.
JazzTimes (10/01/1995)
- JazzTimes
"On record, as in concert, the Fellinis glide easily and often from frenzied excursions to plaintive exotic melodies to hypnotic grooves." Downbeat 1998 - DownBEat Magazine
It is hard to escape their tight grooves and tastefulness in improvisation because they seem to hit you from all angles...the tri-melodic nature of the band, each whom bring to the table an individual approach to jazz, but leaving you with the same result each time: amazement and speechlessness. - California State U Sacramento

“The band is one of the most interesting phenomena going on in music.” - Sacramento Bee Apr ’01
The Broun Fellinis outlasted almost all of their contemporaries in the San FranciscoJazz scene, even outlasted the sf Jazz resurgence. But the true joy of the Broun Fellinis is watching them perform. The Broun Fellinis are an experience” - Westward-Denver Oct ’00
