""Brother HijinX" Reviewed by RadioIndy.com!"

Serving up what they call Atmo-Dub-Funk, Brother HijinX delivers that and much more with their latest CD “Brother HijinX.” Their self-titled disc is filled with sounds very familiar to that of 311 and other bands of that genre. The vocal styling of Anthony Robustelli is reminiscent of Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman, Anthony Kiedis (same first name says it all.) Highlights of his vocal tracks can be heard on “Chrome” and “Available.” There is also some cool, funky guitar work by John Caban on “Available” as well. One of the great things about this disc is the wide number of top session musicians who played on it. With bassists/drummers who played for Govt. Mule, Black Crowes, Rufus Wainright, and Billy Cobham, how can you be let down? All reggae/rock fans will enjoy this record not only for its songwriting, but also for the amazing musicianship that is featured.

Bio

Brooklyn's own Brother HijinX serve up rock solid songs with a healthy dose of deep rump shakin' grooves and rhythmic improvisation, that has been earning them a steady following throughout the country.

Brother HijinX has been performing live shows throughout the Northeast and the Caribbean, engaging music lovers in their heady blend of psychedelic rock, funk, drum & bass, blues and dub, laced with inventive samples and atmospheric sonic dissonance to create their distinctive Atmo-Dub-Funk (c) sound... Imagine if Elvis Costello & Steely Dan met up with The Meters, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd & The Police at a waterfront bar in Brooklyn in the not too distant future.

Anthony Robustelli (vocals, keyboards and samples) & John Caban (guitar, vocals and atmosphere), form BH's song writing core, joined by some of NYC's foremost bassists & drummers. Brother HijinX strikes the right chord every time and keeps crowds grooving & dancing in the aisles. The members have individually played, toured and/or recorded with such renowned artists as The Black Crowes, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Richard Bona, John Scofield, Govt. Mule, MeShell NdegeOcello, Dana Fuchs, Art Neville, Bo Diddley, Kenny Kirkland, Brian Jackson, The Jungle Brothers, Alana Davis, Kelly Price, Richie Havens, John Cruz, Dispatch and others.

Additionally, band members have shared the stage with acts including Paul McCartney, Black Eyed Peas, Wu Tang Clan, Ben Harper, Marcus Miller, The Yellow Jackets, Kenny Garrett and Buddy Guy.
