"...fluttering violins and trickling piano---confessions, both heartwarming and dark. The Escapist is an imaginative and well written storybook."
- ladyindie.com
"...Brooke Campbell with whose shivery, breathless voice and deep-toned acoustic guitar playing I fell in love after hearing her perform live a couple of months ago. I don't know why she isn't better known--I haven't been more impressed with a singer-songwriter since I first heard Jonatha Brooke." - Terry Teachout--Drama Critic-The Wall Street Journal
"I'd see her anytime, anywhere." - Chris Macintosh
"Genuine, honest, and heartbreaking. Brooke Campbell delivers music that is both stirring and satisfying."

Bio
Based in New York City, Brooke Campbell writes and performs from an honest place-sticking close to the music in her head. In performance, she seems to favor that music over anything else in the room or the world, for that matter. And we're glad when she does.
Brooke was raised in rural North Carolina and you can feel the sun on your shoulders when she sings. Her music, however, swings hard and confessional while offering you a place to just soft enough to land.
Reaching out whenever she's inspired, Brooke has instigated collaborations with painters, choreographers, video artists and the like.
She has toured extensively and performed longstanding residencies with an ambient trio of cello, electric, and 3 voices.
Through the pandemic, however, Brooke has been rooting down in Brooklyn and performing virtually for Unitarian congregations, aiming to offer a little solace and receive some herself.
Her most recent EP won a grant for promotion and gained a little traction in AAA radio.
If I were you, I'd grab a glass of something tasty, lay back in a dim room and have a listen.
