Britt Sondreal/His Girl Friday

I grew up singing, but only recently started songwriting and have loved the process of creating new work. As a solo singer, it was hard for me to know how to share my music... enter my good friend and bassist Matt Perez. During the winter of 2009, Matt and I spent a lot of time in my kitchen up in Maine playing around with a solo bass/voice duo, and after we'd worked out a few of the songs we began taking them to a local open mic. We called our project "His Girl Friday," and got some great & enthusiastic feedback. Gradually over the course of the summer, we put together a small group so we could record a demo of the songs and play a few gigs. We loved our experience and time together, but each of us had other responsibilities that called us elsewhere. So I find myself now in NYC, looking for other musicians to collaborate with and hoping to grow as a singer/songwriter.
