Bio
Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Brittany Kennell began to discover the world of music at a young age. Playing piano under the Montreal Royal Conservatory by age 7, she was also writing songs, lyrics, and even poetry on the side. After years of piano lessons and singing in church, she decided to play and write on her own terms. She was first put on stage by one of her mentors, Mr. Frank Nash, to sing in her high school variety shows which, in turn, compelled her to study vocals and continue performing.
After high school Brittany spent a short time at CEGEP (Collège d’Enseignement Général et Professionnel) but took advantage of every opportunity while she was there. She kept involved participating in school performances and even managing her own production, Inspi(red), a musical concert benefting AIDS. With this love for music and influences such as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Cat Stevens, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell and The Eagles, Brittany knew she wanted to be a story teller. She then went on to finish her studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Songwriting. While in Boston, Brittany tried to maintain involvement with the community and the school participating in shows, projects and productions. After being apart of the Country Ensemble for 3 semesters, she knew country music was her true roots and calling.
With Nashville as the next step in her path, Brittany's dedication and inspiration has not let her take a break from songwriting with the goal of having a long career as a writer for other artists in Music City, along with performing and releasing albums in her own right.
She has in turn released 3 EP's, her most recent 'Up In Smoke' recorded at Nashville Music House in Nashville, TN.
