"Brieanna Grace Releases Debut Album Good Machine"

Brieanna Grace
Good Machine
(No Label)
RIYL: Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey

In a city saturated with singer/songwriters, Brieanna Grace pops with something different. Her lyrics are as personal and heartfelt as an acoustic lullaby, but her melodies tell a new story.
Her first full album, Good Machine, revs the engine on traditional pop music. No bubblegum, sugary-sweet ornamentations flutter through these seven tracks. Good Machine cranks up the dial with a bold, industrial pulse.
Like a lot of successful pop albums, Grace’s catchy melodies capture your ears from the first listen. What sets her brand of indie pop apart from others, though, are her rich, powerful vocals. She doesn’t hide behind auto-tune boosters or limelight-stealing backup singers; those pipes are all her own, and she’s not afraid to let them blare.
She doesn’t press on the gas right away, however. In “Catch Your Love,” her vocals float through the wispy stratosphere for a few bars before building momentum.
By the end of the first verse, her breathiness turns brassy and rages over the tingling percussion. The returning chorus is more infectious than laughter. I dare you not to sing it for the rest of the day. Just try.

The album’s title track whooshes past like the rattling Austin Metrorail. “Good Machine” hints at Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” days, but really rings with some good old ’90s music magic. Any millennial who rocked out to Christina or Britney will get the warm fuzzies while listening to this track. Just listen to her flexible, honey-butter voice glide through the riffs after the bridge. Those slippery scales could loop through music-loving brains for days on end. Some might even venture to say she could show them off a little more.

Instead of relying on typical “porcelain doll” metaphors, Grace writes with a little more bite. Conjuring images of a science-fiction kind of dystopia, Grace describes living life like a preprogrammed robot and the euphoric rush that follows once those “chains have rusted.” With all of its nuanced detail, it’s no wonder she chose Good Machine as the title for the album. Its serrated edge, mixed with three-ring spectacle, exemplifies all that is right in the pop music world.
In addition to her latest album, she’s also cooking up an EP titled Blue, with producer Tim Curry. “Meth,” the latest single from this collaboration, playfully scoops between registers and piques the ambivalent ear. If you’re stifling back a yawn, this tune will flow like coffee through your bloodstream. Though still in her theatrical pop vein, “Meth” gets a little more dangerous and daring. Unafraid to pack the punch a little harder, Brieanna Grace shows she has versatility in her back pocket in addition to thoroughly catchy hooks.

Her album release party ignited The Parish on Aug. 23. Full of big hair and shiny spectacle, Grace’s live shows are as cinematic as the music she composes. "Featured Artist: Brieanna Grace"

14 OCTOBER 2015
FEATURED ARTIST: BRIEANNA GRACE
Austin, Texas isn't really known for producing the next big music artists, but they might just have done with Brieanna Grace and her debut album Good Machine.

Her voice reminds me of popstar Katy Perry, but sounds more authentic and the songs on the album truly reflect the effort she has put into making this record. Grace is a great example of a Pop-Indie artist who is experimenting with different sounds and has something unique to show for it, with a message that relates to the struggles of being young and wanting to find yourself, something everyone has struggled with at some point in their lives and portraying it with perfect imagery and lyrics.

Buy her album Good Machine on Bandcamp and listen to certain songs from the album on SoundCloud and Reverbnation. Bio

Consistent with Mainstream Pop tunes, Brieanna Grace uses catchy melodies, unique imagery, and relatable lyrics, but what sets her brand of indie pop apart from others, though, are her rich, powerful vocals. Described as industrial cinematic pop, the album 'Good Machine' combines singer-songwriter with hard dance pop. Adding a live rock band feel with every performance sets Grace's debut album apart from other indie pop artists, completing high energy performances with powerful meanings and interactive listening.

A six piece band complete with lead guitar, keys, synth,
and backing tracks, gives the live Brieanna Grace performances the fullness of a rock band, with the entertainment of a Pop concert.
