Bio
As a kid, LeRoy Johnson (Bozznitti) was indeed an energetic and amusing entertainer. He enjoyed imitating James Brown fancy footwork
and doing the splits at family functions. As he grew up watching
Michael Jackson take hold of the music industry and grow under Mr. Barry
Gordon record label (Motown), gave young LeRoy hope that it’s possible that one day he could become a big super- star. When he was eleven years old, he participated in a modeling program that was held at his elementary school. There were seven shows total, which was held as school events. It was during these shows that LeRoy realized
he had a natural talent to perform in front of a public audience. He
told his mother he enjoys performing for people and that he wanted to be
a performing artist like Michael Jackson.
It was the fall of 1981 and LeRoy had
begun junior high school after spending all summer developing his
pop-locking skills. He started competing at school talent shows and also
at weekend functions. By 1983 LeRoy had
started a female pop-locking group called, Three much which included
his older sister and a couple of her friends. In the summer of 1984 he
and the group had performed a couple of times at Florin Skate, which use
to reside off Florin Rd. located in Sacramento, CA.
But his interest in hip-hop didn’t start until his ear for music was
exposed to the scratch mixing sounds of Grand Master Flash(first known
East Coast DJ) and lyrics by the Sugar Hill Gang(first rap group).
At this time LeRoy watched hip-hop take hold growing throughout
the inner cities in America and by the late eighties he looked to
possibly a professional career in the music industry, which at this time
familiar home town entrepreneurial spirits such as; Robert Brookins -
Producer/Songwriter and Jay King - Artist/Songwriter was by now making a
positive impact in the music industry. But it wasn’t until the mid 90’s
LeRoy start to take the music industry extremely serious, given the opportunity to spend a day with Lisa “LeftEye”
Lopez (from the trio TLC), her sincere advice and critique of his first
recording had inspired him to pursue a professional career within the
music industry.
After the disapproval years of financial problems in the late 90’s; in fall 2002, Johnson
enrolled in American River College music program and completed an AA
degree in Commercial Music Business Spring 2006; he is also founder of a
small management company called, “Poverty Management”. 2014, Johnson completed his BS in Business Administration and is continuing his college education at Capella University to achieve his MBA.
