Fun, upbeat electro pop. Each song is a beats-driven synth masterpiece, but the vocals provided by singer Dickie Boutros are the melodic glue holding it together. He and his musical partner in crime, Nicky Boutros, manage to find just the right way to harmonize his voice with the various synth sounds they use – some of which are reminiscent of old video games and carnival rides! Keep It Steady is a fun romp for anyone who loves synth pop, and we found it hard not to get up and dance. - The Owl Magazine
We have GIANT SYSTEM to thank again for yet another Chicago artist that for the life of me, don’t understand why this hasn’t jumped out of the boat elsewhere yet in funky/indie duo BOUTROS. Veronica aptly said they sound like Phoenix meets French Horn Rebellion, and I think she nailed it on this one. Dicky and Nicky are white boys with some soul indeed.I like this track, with the whistles that sound like an early ’80’s track and the DeBarge crooning. Dig it.

When I close my eyes and listen to Boutros I see a pair of future dudes inside an eccentric billionaire's space-craft sex lair as it hovers over New York City on a Saturday night. But as punk rock would have it, the group is made up of two Chicago dudes named Dicky and Nicky who just wanna ball all of the time, and who can blame ‘em? Me and my girl don’t play our game without Dicky’s smooth voice and Nicky’s thumping bass to set the pace. - Giant System Chicago
This electronic duo has been compared to Phoenix, Hall & Oates, and Chromeo, something that might initially seem like a slam, but a confluence of all of those artists is pretty dead on what Boutros sounds like. The twosome's techno-soulfulness is cheeky fun and campy as hell, which likely means this will be one of the more entertaining performances at MPMF this year.
Dig It: The enduring legacy of Har Mar Superstar. - City Beat Cincinatti
And then there’s Chicago’s Boutros, who might be as close to Maneater Hall And Oates as humanly possible. You know despite how much you try to hate Hall And Oates that when they come on at work you find yourself dreaming of rolling up your jacket sleeves and belting out songs about lists of kisses. Boutros may dress up their tunes in keyboards and drum machines, but dammit if there aren’t pop gems lurking beneath. - Loud Loop Press

Bio
Boutros is beat driven electro-pop, mixing synth sounds with heavy lyrical content and infectious melodies. Diverse comparisons range from Phoenix to Hall and Oates to Kraftwerk. The Boutros live performance is described as a face-melting dance party with fans that mix boozy enthusiasm with sing-along swing.
Boutros is Dickie Boutros and Nicky Boutros, who met through their mutual friend and immediately hit it off based on shared love of electronic music and late night discussions.
In March 2010, Boutros released their debut full length "Flat Tires Make Friends" with songs that focus on the triumph and trials of friendships, sexual and spiritual gymnastics, and fear of technology.
In 2012, Boutros will release a new fan-funded EP featuring new songs written while touring for the last record. Boutros has turned the energy, intimacy, and confusion of being on the road into a new batch of ambitious arrangements.
