"It's the rare record that you can bring to your pre-teen kids without steeling your nerves against six months of repeated plays and an onslaught of cartoon earworms. The BoE did it right: They made an educational record without telling themselves that they were making an educational record. You don't need to have been raised on "Schoolhouse Rock" to recognize how smart that is." - The Seattle Times
"Their new kids' CD educates like Schoolhouse Rock... and yet sounds a bit like Ben Folds Five... Regardless of who they remind us of, they have a sound that's melodically their own with catchy songs full of well-thought out lyrics so multi-layered you'll find yourself listening
to them over and over again... And let's face it, tin foil robots + volcanoes = AWESOME!" - Otterhop Kids and Family Blog
"Forgive them if the name sounds so very official. Central Services' The Board of Education is anything but official and boring. Their music seems to span the generations and genres." - The Seattle P-I
“The Board of Education album sounds like nothing else you'll hear in the kids music genre all year. I can't think of another album that will generate the chatter this one will.” - Zooglobble Children's Music Blog
Seattle powerpop band Central Services combine their love of
melody and hooks with classroom subjects that might otherwise
be yawned at by Fourth Graders, to create the ridiculously catchy, funny, and intelligent CD!"
- Kids Music That Rocks
“What sets [Central Services] apart is something spectacular: The Board of Education.”
- The Seattle Weekly
"Color me biased, but any band that writes a song called "The Many Uses, and Dangers, of Commas" has my attention. Sample lyric: "I think we can all agree, movie previews are much better, thanks to commas."
If you liked the Kinks in the '80s, you'll definitely like the Board of Education. - MSN.com, Mom and Pop Culture

Bio
Formed in 2007, The Board of Education has been heralded by kids, parents, schools, libraries and the press and Seattle's smartest kids band! With music for the elementary school rocker, the BoE has wowed crowds throughout the Seattle area and in 2010 launched their first east coast tour with shows from Philadelphia to Boston. After taking some time off to write his next children's novel (HarperCollins 2012), Kevin and the band are back with a brand new album in the works, and more brainy fun! Expect more rock and roll that's part 1975 Childrens Television Workshop, part the Shins. The BoE's first record has been a hit in Seattle and nationwide and earned rare honors as the only kids record to chart on prestigious indie press Three Imaginary Girls top Northwest releases of 2008 at #23! As they sing on their intro song, Here we goooo! :)
