"Pirates, Scary Pumpkins & mermaids! All of best ingredients for a Super Silly Time on the Circle Line Halloween Cruise with Baze And His Silly Friends."

On Saturday October 26th, the kids and I had the pleasure of attending an awesome Halloween Kids Cruise by the Circle Line!

There was a balloon artist, a face painter, a magician, and a band on board the boat.

Samara was excited about the face painter. She requested to become a mermaid. While we were waiting in line to get her face painted, the magician showed us some cool card tricks.
All the kids on the boat got to dance to the sounds of Baze and His Silly Friends! Baze and His Silly Friends is an awesome kids band from New Jersey. They were dressed for the occasion like pirates.
We liked their music so much, that Samara requested a CD.

One of our favorite songs was a jam that combined the popular nursery rhymes and had all the kiddos rocking out.

And let's remember the best part of being on a boat: looking out on the water!
he kids and I had an awesome time on board.

Thank you to the Circle Line for an awesome Halloween Kids Cruise!*

""I really love this album. It's fun, energetic and has a lot of rhythm!""

Baze and His Silly Friends are a multi-award winning children/family rock band out of New Jersey that was formed from entertaining songs that Marc Bazerman would sing to his sons. With the desire to want to get kids out and dancing, being happy and celebrating, Baze and His Silly Friends were created!
On their new album, The Best Day Ever, they bring in an incredible all-star children's music cast of silly friends: Lucky Diaz, Suzi Shelton, Kira Wiley, Yosi, and Dave Lambert (The Fuzzy Lemons), as well as Stacia Newcomb ("Star" on PBS KIDS Sprout's The Good Night Show), Andrew Freeman (The Offspring, Lynch Mob), and the legendary Tom "Bones" Malone!

Because there are so many amazing artists on the album, it really has a lot of different genre's mixed in from pop, rock to a little soft punk. All of the tunes are inspired by Marc Bazerman's the daily experiences of raising two sons, which as we all know can be quite entertaining and maybe a little crazy! But it is also a reason why I really love this album. It's fun, energetic and has a lot of rhythm!

They also make some pretty silly videos!

I really love the mish-mash of sounds on this album and it is a lot of fun to dance to with little tot. If you are looking for something to get your kids active and grooving, make sure to check out The Best Day Ever! You can even listen to snippets on their music player and purchase from there! My personal favorite song is Riverside.

To keep up with Baze and His Silly Friends and their award-winning music, make sure to "Like" them on Facebook and/or follow along at @BAHSF - Outnumbered 3 to 1

"This album is so much fun!"

There is just something special about musicians that specialize in kid's music. They tend to write about things and add lyrics and music to help capture our world from a kid's perspective perfectly. Baze and His Silly Friend's The Best Day Ever is a folk-rock album that has a great heart! This album has all the silliness that little's enjoy!

About:
New Jersey-based kindie rock band Baze and His Silly Friends decided to rev it up a notch by producing an all-star lineup of "Guest Silly Friends" on the band's third kids'/family CD, The Best Day Ever! (Doodle Hollow Records, $13.99, for ages 3 - 7, run time 29 minutes.)

Joining Baze and His Silly Friends are kindie music faves Lucky Diaz, Suzi Shelton, Kira Wiley, Yosi, and Dave Lambert (The Fuzzy Lemons), as well as Stacia Newcomb ("Star" on PBS KIDS Sprout's The Good Night Show), Andrew Freeman (The Offspring, Lynch Mob), and the legendary Tom "Bones" Malone, one of the original Saturday Night Live band members and an original Blues Brothers Band member, who currently plays trombone in the CBS Orchestra for The Late Show with David Letterman, as well as with almost everyone else in the music biz.

Check out the Baze and His Silly Friends website at http://mysillyfriends.com. The Best Day Ever! will be available at CDBaby.com and iTunes.

My Thoughts:

This album is so much fun! With some great beats and lyrics it will have your kids singing and bopping along! Each song has a unique feel but the whole album comes together beautifully. Superman is a song every little boy will relate too! Poor Mother Goose is a great little remix of classic mother goose fairtyales. Wonderful Day is my favorite - you'll find yourself singing this one even after the cd is off (like I did!) - As They Grow Up

""The Best Day Ever! is a great way to encourage young people to look on the bright side of life.""

Parent's Choice Award-winning children's band Baze and His Silly Friends present their latest children's album, The Best Day Ever!, drawn directly from Marc "Baze" Bazerman's day-to-day life raising two rambunctious young sons. Funny, lively and inspiring, The Best Day Ever! is a great way to encourage young people ages 3-7 to look on the bright side of life. The tracks are "Poor Mother Goose" (2:14), "Fly (a caterpillar's tale)" (2:26), "A Little Green" (3:19), "Riverside" (2:14), "Wonderful Day" (2:34), "Silly Sandy Shark's Swinging Summer Surf Song" (2:28), "Friend" (2:27), "Wake Up (it's time to go to bed)" (2:03), "School Days" (2:22), "Another Bedtime Story" (2:49), "Superhero" (3:01), and "Dah Day" (1:06). - Midwest Book Review

"Baze and His Silly Friends “The Best Day Ever” Children/Family Music CD"

Good Morning Ahh~Mazing people and little ahh~mazing people too! Today I have a review to tickle your music bone, make you laugh, dance and sing!!

Baze And His Silly Friends are releasing their third CD today and it is titled ”The Best Day Ever”! It is loaded with fun songs that will get your toes to tapping and maybe make you play some air guitar too.

Baze And His Silly Friends have won some impressive awards over the years…

A Parents Choice Recommended Seal,

Creative Child Magazine Seal Of Excellence,

The Toy Man Editors Choice and Seal Of Approval awards.

“One of the rising stars of children’s music” – NAAPA

Baze And His Silly Friends are 3 guys from Caldwell New Jersey, Marc “Baze” Bazerman, James Goodwin and Jeff Pizzi. Together they produce music for children and families that is truly silly. With song titles like “Silly Sandy Shark’s Swinging Summer Surf Song” and “Wake Up (it’s time to go to bed)” you can get an understanding of why they are so popular among children and grown-ups alike.

“The Best Day Ever” includes some additional musicians who are very popular in the children/family music genre including Lucky Diaz, Dave Lambert and Stacia Newcomb. This CD also includes a personal favorite of mine…. Tom “Bones” Malone from the original Saturday Night Live band and currently a member of the CBS Orchestra for The Late Show with David Letterman. That man plays a mean trombone! These are just a few of the musicians that make this CD such a great adventure. I would of loved to be a fly on the wall during rehearsals and recording for this great CD!!

I always listen to these CD’s with my daughter, Abby, and we like to pick our favorites. Our favorite’s are “Wake Up (it’s time to go to bed)” because I can relate to the lyrics :) and “Poor Mother Goose” because of the snappy tunes behind the classic story-time rhymes.

Abby and I had a fun time dancing around to this CD and I am sure you and your little one will too. Christmas is just around the corner and Baze And His Silly Friends “The Best Day Ever” will make a great gift for your family! - ahhmazingreviews

"Baze and his Silly Friends: The Best Day Ever CD Review"

The Jazzy Intro to Poor Mother Goose on Baze and his Silly Friends CD The Best Day Ever had me dancing and knowing this was going to be a CD my kids and I would love!

I like that this first song is about a nursery rhyme that we are all familiar with. It ads a level of familiarity to the CD even though we’d never heard it before. There’s something endearing about sharing the same stories I enjoyed in childhood with my kids in a new and fun way. It was a great way to pull my kids into the music.

A lot of the other songs appealed to my kids, especially School Days and Superhero. The topics and lyrics were so age appropriate for my four and five year olds that they both really connected to the CD.

I really enjoyed the overall upbeat music as well as messages. My kids need to be surrounded by positivity in this world. Songs like Wonderful Day really set them off on the right foot to start their day.

Baze and his Silly Friends really are super silly and fun which is perfect for my young kids to listen to – and me too! - IE Mommy

"It Pays to Be Baze: His Best Day Ever!"

Baze (Mark Bazerman) and his silly friends are back to amuse the youngest among us. As far as they're concerned, that makes it THE BEST DAY EVER!

The Caldwell, New Jersey residents run through a dozen songs in less than 30 minutes (how's that for commanding the tiny ones with the shortest of attention spans?). Baze has recruited a number of names that I'm only too happy to drop (Tom "Bones" Malone from the Letterman Late Night band), Kira Willey, Lucky Diaz, Suzi Shelton, Yosi Levin, (take a breath), Dave Lambert (the Fuzzy Lemons), Stacia Newcomb (Sprout), and Andrew Freeman (the Offspring).

Baze and company deal with some universal themes, such as settling the kids ("Wake Up (Time to Go to Bed"), your kids' imaginations during the retelling of a boring tale ("Another Bedtime Story"), and striving for exceptional powers ("Superhero"):

I run faster than a speeding train.
I solve problems with my super-brain.
I'm strong enough, I can lift a house.
Afraid of nothing, I won't harm a mouse.
I dream that I can fly
Like a rocketship through the sky.
My friends will all call me....superhero.

While I wouldn't schlep my 12-year-old to a Baze-centric show, my three-year-old would feel right at home (lugging his big brother's faux guitar). There's no secret subtext and the lessons, per se, are right out there for the youngsters to clearly interpret. If you're seeking a super-swift CD to sooth your tot's song supplication, for some the solution may be Baze and THE BEST DAY EVER!

THE BEST DAY EVER is available through Baze's website, Amazon, CDBABY, and iTunes.

My little ones love music, especially albums that get them singing and dancing; Baze and His Silly Friends, The Best Day Ever did just that! MY 4 year old and almost 2 year old immediately started moving and grooving with the first track, "Poor Mother Goose" all the way through the last track, "Dah Day: The whole CD is filled with fun lyrics, great music and subjects all kids can truly relate too.

""The music is happy, energetic and imaginative. It’s made for singing, dancing and giggling.""

Baze and His Silly Friends are just as fun and silly as they look on their CD cover! The music is happy, energetic and imaginative. It’s made for singing, dancing and giggling.

Marc Bazerman (AKA Baze) is the leader of the group and is dad to 2 little boys who give him inspiration. The other members of the band have experience in kindie rock and adult rock. One of the band members was a member of the original Blues Brothers band! The musicians are talented and have adapted their skills to be kid friendly.

The music has good energy and the lyrics are very clear and easy for kids to understand. The songs are about everyday things that kids will be able to relate to and have fun with.

Baze and His Silly Friends supports Autism Speaks. A portion of their CD sales is donated for autism awareness.

Baze and His Silly Friends – The Best Day Ever

by Amanda S., product review panel member

Best Day Ever CD

BAZE and His Silly Friends – The Best Day Ever is a Children’s music CD that contains 12 songs ranging from 1 minute to 3 minutes long. Topics include School, Bedtime, Pirates, Superheros and Caterpillars. Best suited for ages Toddler –Kindergarten.

I found the music to be wonderfully upbeat with a wide range of instruments and vocals with a guitar, drum, horn and sometimes rock-like vibe that was very appealing to my 5 year old son. I like that the songs are not too long so that my children remained constantly engaged. My 5 year old son and my 2 year old daughter danced and enjoyed the music from beginning to end and never became bored.

I highly recommend this funny, silly children’s music CD.

"New Music: The Best Day Ever!"

Hey folks, I’m in the mood for a musical adventure this morning, and I have the perfect soundtrack to accompany the calamity… “The Best Day Ever” by Baze and His Silly Friends. This album has everything: punchy pop, folksy themes, slide trombones, choral creations, and rockin’ guitars.

“The Best Day Ever” features a dozen creative tracks featuring super cool guest artists such as Lucy Diaz, Suzi Shelton, Kira Wiley, Andrew Freeman (The Offspring), and Tom “Bones” Malone (SNL band member and original Blues Brothers Band member).

My favourite track on this album is “School Days” with it’s Ramones-esque flavour. I also dig “Another Bedtime Story” and “Wonderful Day” which was inspired by the words of John Lennon who said, “Once we realise we are all the same people, we are all of the same earth, then we can just get on with it”.

Pre-sale for “The Best Day Ever” starts on 1 October 2013, and you’ll get an instant download. Check out the Baze and His Silly Friends website for all the details.

You can also score a free download of my favourite track, “School Days”, here. - Kid Independent

"Listeners Will Have The Best Day Ever When They Hear The New LP From Baze And His Silly Friends"

Baze and his Silly Friends are back once again with their third full length record. Call them “toddler rock” or “kindie rock”, it doesn’t matter. Both titles fit for the band three albums in. That’s because The Best Day Ever! carries the same poppy vibe of those records through all twelve of its tracks. And parents will appreciate the fun lyrical themes throughout this new record. The record kicks off with the fun Dixieland take on some of the most beloved nursery rhymes of all time in ‘Poor Mother Goose.’ This is without a doubt one of the most original ways to present such familiar literary works. Audiences of any age will laugh at the sound effects used as front man Marc “Baze” Bazerman sings about Little Miss Muffet and the spider that sat down beside her. There are also funny sound effects used at other points in the overall song that listeners will love no less with each listen. This is just one example of their use. Older audiences will be just as impressed with the fact that the trio could so easily transition from one song to another without missing a beat in the medley.

The album’s second song, ‘Fly (a caterpillar’s tale)’ is a little bit more reserved than the album’s opener. But in its own right, it’s just as important an addition to the album. That’s because it’s not just a song about a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. That’s the main focus. But on a deeper level, one could argue that lyrically speaking, it’s an allegorical song aimed at younger audiences. Bazerman sings in the song’s opening verse, “Though I’m just a little guy/I’ve got big, big dreams/I know if I really try/I can spread my wings/And fly.” Again, on the surface, it’s obvious that this song is about a caterpillar getting ready to turn into something better. On that deeper level though, parents and or teachers could use this single verse to start a discussion about their children/students building self-confidence. The song’s chorus makes this even clear. Bazerman and his band mates sing in the song’s chorus, “Look at me/Look at all that I can do/It’s easy if you believe/it all comes down to you.” If that isn’t clear, it’s anyone guess what is. It’s just one more example of all the positive songs that Baze and his Silly Friends have to offer audiences of all ages.

Bazerman and his band mates offer his audiences plenty of kid and family friendly songs throughout the course of The Best Day Ever! That is clear through the album’s first two songs. The fact that the band has established this so easily and so quickly is impressive. The band wastes no time in establishing itself once more and introducing itself in fine fashion to new audiences. There are so many songs from which audiences can choose as their favorites across the dozen tracks presented here. One more that listeners (especially parents and teachers) might enjoy is the environmentally themed ‘A Little Green.’ Singer Stacia Newcomb joins the band to share vocal duties on this song. While younger listeners might not catch on to it, this song actually has a little bit of a 1960s era sound about it not just because of its lyrics, but through its music, too. Bazerman and Newcomb sing to listeners about taking care of the planet in the song. They sing in the song’s chorus, “We can all make a difference/Hey/You and me/it won’t be that hard to do/If we’re all a little green.” Some younger listeners might be able to grasp the lyrics. And for those that might be too young to fully understand, this will be another good starting point to talk to those listeners and get them started young in terms of helping to care for the planet. It’s one more of so many songs that audiences will enjoy once the album is released. The album will be released this Fall. In the meantime, families can hear some of the band’s new material live as the band performs live in support of The Best Day Ever! The band will perform a semi-hometown show on Saturday, October 5th at the Collingswood Book Festival in Collingswood, New Jersey. The band will also perform a pair of shows late in October as the new album’s release date nears. Audiences can find out when and where on the band’s official Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/bahsf and its official website, http://www.mysillyfriends.com.

CALDWELL — After garnering a Parents’ Choice Award for their 2009 album, Toddlerville, Caldwell-based kindie rock band Baze and His Silly Friends decided to rev it up a notch by producing an all-star lineup of “Guest Silly Friends” on the band’s third kids’/family CD, “The Best Day Ever!” from Doodle Hollow Records.

Joining Baze and His Silly Friends are Lucky Diaz, Suzi Shelton, Kira Wiley, Yosi and Dave Lambert (The Fuzzy Lemons), as well as Stacia Newcomb (“Star” on PBS Kids Sprout’s The Good Night Show), Andrew Freeman (The Offspring, Lynch Mob), and Tom “Bones” Malone, one of the original Saturday Night Live band members and an original Blues Brothers Band member, who plays trombone in the CBS Orchestra for The Late Show with David Letterman.

According to Marc “Baze” Bazerman, founder and leader of Baze and His Silly Friends, “Every song on The Best Day Ever! emerged from my daily experiences as the father of two small sons. This album is a snapshot of our times together, and, while it absolutely rocks, it has both an edgy and a laid-back feel at times.”

Marc Bazerman is an in-demand New York City post audio engineer who has booked many years of experience recording and mixing TV and radio commercials, TV shows, and feature films for clients such as A&E, Lifetime, ABC, Spike, USA Network, The History Channel, and HBO. Bazerman’s talents have contributed to such Broadway success stories as Young Frankenstein, Hair, Memphis, Billy Elliot, West Side Story, and Rent, as well as countless popular animated TV shows, including ABC’s Doug, Disney’s PB&J, and Nickelodeon’s Little Bill.

Baze and His Silly Friends is a supporter of Autism Speaks, and a portion of the band’s CD sales goes to help autism awareness.

""The Best Day Ever" Music CD Review ""

Disclosure: Grandma Bonnie's Closet has not been compensated for the following product review. I received a product sample for review purposes only.

I am so excited to have the pleasure of reviewing "The Best Day Ever" music CD for children.
My first impressions were that this is not ordinary children's music. This music creates an energetic mood that children of all ages will love. I was bouncing around just like a child while I listened to this CD. The mood and energy created by this music got me up and swinging with my grandson.

A very interesting and at the top of my favorites on this CD is the track, Silly Sandy Shark"s Swinging Summer Surf Song. This song brought back some fond memories of some swinging surfing tunes I am very sentimental about.
Another of my favorite tracks is, Wake Up (It's Time to Go to Bed). I love the rhythm of this song. It is very addictive. I found myself toe tapping several times while listening to this track. I am fairly certain this will become my youngest grandsons favorite tune.
The cutest track on this CD is Dah Day. It is the sweetest babbling baby you ever want to listen to.
I know how much my grandsons are enjoying "The Best Day Ever". I do believe they will be listening to this CD for years to come.
Baze and His Silly Friends will take your child for a wild ride with their toddler style rock-n-roll. Your toddler will be head bopping and feet stomping along with this musical adventure. "Mama's Rant Review"

Not to get all Alternadad on you, but my family has never been one to listen to children's music. Yes, we have The Johnny Cash Children's Album, and I have to admit that Laurie Berkner is pretty cool. Yet, I'd rather listen to what I like, not "Twinkle, Twinkle" a thousand times in a row. This probably explains why we listen to a lot of the Ramones and Green Day on the way to school.

So when Marc Bazerman sent me a copy of "One Little Smile" by his band, Baze and His Silly Friends, I was hoping it wasn't another so-called cool rendition of classic kids music. (Click here to hear some song samples.)

In fact, I was pleasantly surprised. Why? Well, not only is the music sophisticated enough for parents (and the lyrics fun and appropriate for kids) but I'm convinced that Marc is channeling Ray Davies, circa 1979 and the Kink's Low Budget album. (Maybe he should add "Wish I Could Fly Like Superman" to the band's repertoire.) - amamasrant.com

""With no electricity and a dwindling phone battery, Toddlerville was the first album we chose to listen to.""

Rhys is a big boy now. At least, that’s what she was singing to herself at storytime this past Saturday, during the craft.

Rhys’s recent haircut

Now, given her recent haircut, someone might believe her…well, probably not. I’m projecting. I usually own the names people call me, but I was never into “androgynous.”

…says the person who had a shaved head for the better part of 1996-2006. I know, I was asking for it. Moving on.

Rhysie was actually singing “Big Boy Now” off the album Toddlerville from Baze and His Silly Friends. And, if you ask me, it’s the standout track on the album. It has a charm I was having a hard time putting my finger on, so I turned to my musical better half. (Seriously. We agree on classic punk, and not much else.) This is a paraphrase of our conversation:

Nate: Spanish guitar, I guess.

Me: It seems like it should be part of a movie with bad guys…

Nate: It does have a spaghetti western thing going.

Me: Yes! I think that’s what I’m trying to say.

Nate: Except there aren’t any horns, so I don’t know if it qualifies.

Me: Oh.

Then he proceeds to tell me something about the “characteristics of modern rockabilly” and I proceed to nod like I have half a clue what he’s talking about.

So, even if spaghetti western isn’t quite accurate, there is definitely a gunslingers-at-the-opposite-ends-of-the-jungle-gym element at play. “I’m a big boy now/ You better watch out.”

As a whole, the album has lots of silliness (as you might expect from the band name.) That silliness is something all kids need and enjoy. Another favorite track, “This Is Your Body,” rocks and rolls listeners into bouts of spontaneous dancing. Yes! It rolls! If you need proof, watch the video.

To summarize the album’s merits, let me put it this way: With no electricity and a dwindling phone battery, this was the first album we chose to listen to.

"Toddlerville best of childrens music"

Last month, we introduced four new albums in the first installment of our Kids’ Music feature series. This month, we’ve got four new artists and albums to share!

First up is Baze and His Silly Friends’ award-winning Toddlerville, which features fourteen original songs by Marc (aka Baze), Brian, Matt and Tom. The four dads from New Jersey write and perform upbeat and engaging songs for kids ages three to seven.

One of the most notable tracks, “This Is Your Body,” was highlighted on HBO Family, and the album received a Parents’ Choice Award for Audio in spring 2010. The group tackles topics like a new baby in the family, emotions such as fear, life as part of a family and learning fundamentals like the days of the week with subtlety, charm and irresistible melodies. - The Indie - Tot

"Getting Silly and Making Friends Baze & His Silly Friends Tickle Kids (In the Right Way)"

Everyone has silly friends. But most of them don't perform children's music. In 2007, New Jersey's Marc Bazerman gathered a group of like-minded adults and began playing and recording songs for kids and their families. "Baze and His Silly Friends" released their album, "Toddlerville" to much acclaim last fall. It received the 2009 Toy Man® Seal Of Approval Recognition Award and the 2009 eChoice? Award.

The 14 songs on the CD, as with many childrens recordings, run through a variety of musical stylings. The country twang of "Water Comes Out Your Nose" mingles with the psychedelic waa-waa of "Scare Me, Scare You!" and reggae of "Gettin' Good." For pure good-time music, the album kicks off with "Everyone Everywhere." I would be remiss if I didn't mention the track, "This Is Your Body," which received airplay on HBO Family.

Since our "primary" child has turned nine, he's a little recalcitrant to admit listening to a CD entitled, "Toddlerville," which means we might need to give him more reason to select it for airplay in the rotation in the car (where we keep six CDs at any given time). But we'll definitely keep mentioning Baze & Company.

You can become one of Baze's silly friends by joining them at Myspace.

"Take Me To Toddlerville"

Today I am happy to be posting another, long overdue review (hey that rhymes!). A month or two ago I received a CD from Baze and his Silly Friends. This New Jersey quartet, fronted by Marc Bazerman has a new CD called Toddlerville that my dear readers here at Singing in the Bathtub might enjoy.

It's been a while since I've posted a video, so I thought I'd kick off this review with their latest video from the album: This is Your Body.

So, as you can see and hear, Baze and his silly friends offer a bluesy, rollicking brand of kids' music that if fun and upbeat. What first jumped out at me when listening to Toddlerville was the rich vocal harmonies. There are so many solo artist kids' acts out there, that when a tight band with kickin' three part harmony comes across my desk I have to stop and smile.

The second thing that caught my attention when checking out Toddlerville was the pseudo-"Hard Day's Night" cover featuring the silly friends mugging for the camera (with a bit of swirly tie-dye pattern to compliment the folk/rock, jam-band style of the music). Parents who are old enough to remember vinyl albums will appreciate this wink to one of rock and roll's seminal albums.

Produced, engineered and mixed by Marc Bazerman and guitarist/keyboard player Brian Rund, the album has a consistent, bluesy, rock and roll vibe that I really enjoy. I am always heartened to see other kids' artist taking the reigns and self-producing. Not sure why, but Quincy Jones, Rick Ruben and Brian Eno don't seem to be lining up to work on the latest kids' music album. Equally, Ticketmaster isn't shelling out the big bucks to book kids' music acts, so I often wonder where artists' production budgets come from. It's nice to have the control and the experience to do a project like this on your own.

The Mike Brady Wrap-up: With the dog days of summer just around the corner, Baze and his Silly Friends' latest album Toddlerville puts me in the mood to find my brightest tie-dye and dust off my dancing shoes. Bazerman has done a great job capturing the thoughts and emotions of this in between time when saying "I'm a Big Boy!" seems like the most vital and important thing in the world. If you are a fan of folk, rock and blues, Toddlerville may be right up your alley!

"Parents Choice Recommended Seal Award Review"

Take four tuneful dads from Caldwell, New Jersey; combine with fourteen well-written and lighthearted pop songs for younger children, and you have the very pleasing album by Baze and his Silly Friends. The Sergio Leone inspired "Big Boy Now," the REM-ish "My Family," the rocking "Toddlerville," and the New Wave inspired, weekday naming song "Time of Your Life," will have kids and their parents dancing around the house. The video for the highly infectious anatomy lesson of the group's "This is Your Body" has been getting a lot of airplay on the HBO Family network, thanks to it's Monkees/Banana Splits inspired lunacy.
Along the way, there are light and airy lessons on imagination ("My Imagination"), animals at the zoo ("Water Comes Out of Our Nose"), spooky things (the funky "Scare Me, Scare You"), and an alphabet song: "I Got the ABC's," featuring the rapping of Ah-Choo.

The production, performance, singing and songwriting are professional and entertaining. Parents with kids in the three- to seven-year age bracket will find Toddlerville added to the "Play it again, please" list.
