"Attack the City is one of the most promising bands I've heard emerging out of the Boston area recently. They seem to have found a great balance between melody and dissonance in their music, and they deliver it with fire. It's also refreshing to hear a band that seamlessly weaves electronic and ambient sounds into their hardcore-driven style. I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing more ATC!" - Ivan Chopik
PGB Pick: Attack the City and Love Via Dance Machine @ All Asia 9/29

If you live in Allston, a few months back you may have seen some ominous sidewalk tags en route to the The Silhouette, or The Whitehorse, or Herrell’s (yeah I know it’s Allston Cafe now), or if you have impeccable taste (like we do) Deep Ellum. These yellow and red stenciled markings said something about Hostages… something about Attacking a City? This vandalism was is in fact how we first learned about the budding Boston band Attack the City.
Signed to District Kills Records, this young troop will fill all your high-energy Screamo needs and then some. Bassist (and music-blogger) Nick Grieco and drummer Rudy Olivares hold down the impressively tight rhythm, while guitar duo Sean Killary and Sam Morgan churn out mean WAAF-ready riffs made to get you boys and girl jumping up and down. If you’re looking to add an adrenaline shot to your Tuesday night, head to All Asia in Cambridge on September 29th – get angry, get sad, get pumped with Attack the City, and then dance the night away with electro-pop friends Love Via Dance Machine. The pair are sharing the stage starting at 7 pm. Check em out, and pick up a copy of Attack the City’s debut release Hostages EP.

Love Via Dance Machine and Attack the City
7PM – 10 PM, $10 - Playground Boston
If you're into hard-hitting rock in the vein of Coheed and Cambria or Story of the Year, you'll love Attack the City. ATC is an incredible 5-some of rockers from Boston, MA. Their newest EP, Hostages is a 5 track rock-fest featuring tight grooves, climbing instrumentation, and wailing vocals. Songs like Rediscovering Letters gives plenty of room for Melanson to yell, "it won't last," and drummer Olivares to deliver some extremely tight beats.
On Castaway, it begins like a bad version of cheesy 70's video games (a la Galaga), but quickly unleashes real power and talent. The entire band is working together increasingly well to create perfect rock songs.
The overall production is seamless and these guys clearly have what it takes to make it in the scene. Be on the lookout!

Bio
ATC was formed in the spring of '08. Sean met sam, and wanted to start a band. After a few lineup changes, the core of the band was created. ATC is heavily influenced by electronic hard rock bands such as The Receiving End of Sirens, Saosin, and Underoath amongst others. ATC blends ambient electronic beats, catchy vocals, and driving rhythms with heavy guitar driven riffs.
In March 09, ATC was picked up by Boston label District Kills records, and recorded with producer Bryan Russell (Envy on the Coast, Straylight Run, The Academy Is...,) and is releasing Hostages EP Summer '09.
